Those are some nice pics! That looks like cars and coffee on saturday mornings. I stopped by last week, it was really cool. But there weren't as many bimmers last saturday.

Hey utah chat thread! I bought my 06 BSM E90 last November. Since then I have put on matte black kidney grills, some tinted blacklines, some anthracite five spoke wheels (I use my 162s in the winter) and some black finishing rods are on their way right now. I don't post often, as I mainly lurk in general chat and cosmetic modifications, but work was slow today and I saw a familiar coffee shop in Parker's pictures so I decided to stop by.

That wasn't really my plan, it just kinda happened. I've never really been a fan of chrome/silver pieces on the exterior. I bought the blacklines tinted from one of the vendors, they seemed a bit more unique. And I think dark wheels look better when your brakes shower your wheels with brake dust. Shadowline trim would be nice, I just can't afford it. I may end up switching trim to the basic black on the 325, but even those pieces are kinda expensive. I suck with vinyl so I may go that route, but I don't know how it will turn out.

You gotta love the 6MT, that was on my list of 3 series criteria. I ended up flying to southern california to buy my car.

Not a bad thought. Some quick searching seems to indicate that it may not be very successful because the tint adhesive isn't designed for exterior use, but I'm no tint expert.

I see a lot of mention of vinyl from graphics shops (vehicle wrap-type stuff) though.

I really like that idea. As great as my disdain for the look of chrome is, I have an insatiable lust for black chrome. On several occasions I've thought about picking up some black chrome exhaust tips, or trying to DIY my own.

I do share Scott's concern, that either the adhesive or the film itself wouldn't hold up under SLC's varied weather. I also believe the vinyl they use on window trim might have a bit more flex and stretch to it.

There is a place that sells vinyl in SLC called Montroy Sign Supply. I've been meaning to check out the store and see what different films they carry and how they behave. I was thinking a good starting project would be to wrap some of my interior wood pieces and gauge my ability based on how epically I fail.
