I think this falls under internet buying/selling with non-large commercial companies. You buy at your own risk knowing that there are folks out there to swindle you out of your money. Being he's trying to get the most he can and doesnt know you outside of a random forum browser, wouldnt get that worked up. I mean, flame threads are reserved for times you get screwed out of cash. Just my 2cents.

Agreed...not defending the seller at all but cash talks...someone paid it before you. It's happened to me, albeit without such a long string of communication, but in the end that's the language both parties are speaking. Making sales convoluted only makes a buyer ready to pay cash more attractive.

I think as members on here we are a community and thus should act like it. I realize there is no requirement for joining these sites or selling stuff on them. Yes it happens all the time but its like, are you going to be part of the problem or part of the solution here? I just expect more of people who actively participate on these boards to be cordial to each other when selling stuff. He lead me on like a thirsty horse to water and that is why I'm pissed. If he had said "Sure if nothing better comes along and you still want um I'll make a deal with you" then no harm, no foul... he was up front. But 30+ PM's back and forth about a deal and then just at the drop of a hat makes a deal with someone else and doesn't even let me know... fuckin childish.

The payment was never the issue... he was still working out the kinks of the deal. First he wanted OEM trades + cash so I went and found those. Then he goes out and buys his own OEM replacements so he just wanted cash. I said fine, but before I could pay him (which he made it sound like no rush, the wheels aren't even coming off the car for another week till the OEM's arrive so no big deal on paying ASAP) he goes and sells them elsewhere.

Again, just fucking lame to not let the guy you've been going back and forth with for over a week know whats going on.

I don't see BP classifieds as much more of a "community" as anywhere else...people have scammed people, fucked up people, etc. Now this thread and those of us who post in this section, different story. But from an outside perspective, I've placed faith in people before on here that I wouldn't again. I agree, it sucks, and yea, the communication could've been MUCH better, but at the end of the day it's still first come first serve. You knew he had the OEMs...it was up to you to come up with the money. Someone else did before you.

Thats not even what happened. He said he got OEMs so he just wanted cash so I said ok I'll get you the cash. He then proceeds to get his money back and go back on the OEM sale with the guy and then make a deal with another guy who had OEM's to send him and wanted to buy his wheels.

I realize that doesn't really matter but its just like: if you make it seem like you've got a sale and are working out the kinks with the buyer, you don't just walk away from him to a new sale without even saying "Hey I got another offer I think I'm gonna take cuz it's easier for me"? its just classless IMO.

oh and FWIW the 1addicts guys are a lot more tighter knit than e90post guys so i have a bit higher expectations from them.

Yea I'm not defending the seller as much as saying it's not unheard of, first suitable sale gets made, regardless of anything else that was said. I've never been burned by an E90poster, but it happens enough on here where it doesn't really spark my radar. Early on I made some purchases that turned out ok but looking back seem shady
