You could but it's not necessary. After playing around with different restrictor plates when initially trying to curb my overboost I am convinced you could run a single 2.5" exhaust on these cars without restricting anything.....so dual 3" is wayyyy overkill.

Ha! It's mine and my dad's shop and although we have a good variety of tools and a lot of cool projects have come out of it over the years it pretty much always looks like a bomb hit it lol

I am running high-flow "gas" 200 cells at the moment. No they are not ideal for a diesel (or that far back in the exhaust stream) but I am hoping at least some reaction occurs taking some of the edge off of the stank. We will see....
That makes sense. So do you have more future plans to change your set up? If so, what are you thinking about doing?

Also, any info where you sourced your cats and resonators?

Hey iaknown, are those the BMW Performance springs that I see there? Sorry for O/T.

As long as the sound is how I expect it to be I'm done with it.

The resonators were already on the exhaust as you can see in my earlier pics. I got the cats from mandrelbendingsolutions.com

I am still planning to have these made guys, should hear something about the first prototype within the next few months. The production exhausts won't have cats, that is something I am experimenting with on my own with this exhaust....

For those who asked.....Finally got my car back on the road. The cats do cut down on the stink. Definitely doesn't smell like a clean diesel with them, but it doesn't smell like my truck either The exhaust/turbos are still very audible too so I think I've accomplished my intended purpose.

As far as inside, I do get a slight drone when cruising in 5th at certain rpm's but only a specific range and in 6th it goes away. Sounds sweet when I get on it so overall I am happy. The resonators probably would be more effective farther forward in the exhaust but they're staying where they are. Time to concentrate on other things.....

funny I dont have the drone feeling in my car i wonder if its because its 3" all the way thru the mufflers w 4" exits. Any way another fellow 335d will be in the Island by the end of the month and he will be seated in my car and will give both bad and good reviews about my car. Will keep you guys posted

You have mufflers, probably why. I didn't have the drone with mufflers either. But I wanted my car louder

Thanks for the update and the comments on the cat's. Been thinking about putting something like that back into my system... Do you have a source for the converters you're using. I see magnaflow has a whole bunch on their site, and one "universal" catalyst that's supposed to fit the 335d.

First, contrats. All that matters is that you are happy.
I like it quiet and loud, if you know what I mean. Contemplating a large downpipe wastegate. Not turbo control, but exhaust backpressure relief. That way the only diesel smell will be for folks that need to be in my rear view mirror.

gracias Iaknown was looking for something like that for e30 M3 since it has no cat and has race headers.

That would be interesting. I've occassionally played with the idea of putting the gutted DPF, which still has the DOC in place, back in. However it's such a pain to remove the motor mount and assorted crap to get it back in there...

If you could make one that could be installed without having to remove the motor mount, I may be interested ...

After gutting my SCR and manhandling the factory exhaust, I wanted to ask if there was an idea to start building the exhaust kits for our cars. The oem piece is so heavy and convoluted it is ridiculous. I thought someone hinted on that before, unless I'm mistaken. I'm either going to wait, do a mufferectomy or build my own.

Yes, it's in the works. The prototype is at the manufacturer's factory now. We're probably looking at spring/summer realistically though if you can wait.
