This looks like a result

If I was in your position I would be buying the same car, engine, extras etc as I would guess you spent a long time deciding. for me the only difference would be the colour as IMO it's a bit girly

That's great news Wafik. Thanks Darren (he's a true gent) for your support in his case and Tony also.

I also received a follow up call which I'm happy with and will let you know of the outcome when everything is resolved. I'd like to add generally sales team at Harold Wood are very helpful and great to deal with.

Good to see that you are getting somewhere... and equally good to see that someone is on the case and not only acknowledging that there are issues with this particular dealer, but also trying to sort them out. Let's hope it works.

This is great news all round It is good to see Sytner's taking a pro-active approach in customer service. Let's hope this is the start of better things from this dealership.

I'd stick with a convertible, otherwise, whenever the sun is out and it's warm you'll regret not being able to drop the roof. I think leaks are pretty rare and I've certainly not suffered any in my M3 vert.

Wow! Thats great news and good to see that there was light at the end of the tunnel for you.

Customer service can make or break a company and I can see that Darrens going to be quite a busy man from now on......any problems and Darren gets a pm!

Personally Wafik, I love the look of your car and have not seen another convertible in that colour yet. Straight replacement required before th sun runs out.

To be honest, there was no way this wasn't going to happen once Darren was involved. So well done on getting the service you should have got from day one, and thanks to Darren for stepping in when he shouldn't have needed to.

However this is the least they should be doing without Darrens involvement as your car was never fit for purpose. are they compensating you in any way for the troubles you've had to endure? Personally I think they should be chucking in a few extras for you, free servicing for a couple of years or tyres or even extras on the car.

Then I'd class this as great service, but thats just my opinion.

Either way it's good news thats something is being done.

Hi Mistry,

I was already on the case, but did not want to mention it until I had got confirmation from BMW. Sent the email to BMW UK yesterday morning before I met up with Wafik and then chatted to the BMW National Sales Manager last night to see if they could pull a few strings for me, but hadn't had the confirmation back until today.

I really hope he can make it...

A good resolution and one which I'm sure we were all thinking was the most appropriate outcome given the situation.

I certainly commend Darren for his actions once the issue was brought to his attention. As many have said, actions speak far louder than words, but his involvement in this thread has certainly averted a potentially serious PR issue and has given a level of feedback necessary to enable genuine change.

I sincerely hope that he continues to be an active participant in this community. There is no doubt that a balanced view of the customer perspective is a very powerful tool.

Good work.

Glad it's been resolved, although like others have said, it shouldn't have got to this stage in the first place.

All the best and hope your not waiting too long for the new vert (you know you'll get another one!)
