Ok, now I'm feeling more confident, 3 people have confirmed their dealerships physically have the vehicles. Well, my CA worked until 8 pm last night, so I doubt mine is in PA.....yet????? If it comes in today, no prob., maybe I can do the ppwk. today and drive off 1st thing tomorrow when the weather is good? I hope this BMW thing isn't like buying a house....anticlimactic. I somehow serioulsly doubt that!

Hey Liquid, u waiting for a 335 or 328 ?. Seems that all cars released are
328's. Hopefully they are not doing the reflashing ECU thing on ours. Who's your dealer in s.fl. ? |

Congrats John, what a better day than weekend.
Hope ParaDiddle is wrong about the logistics thing and ours are down the I-95to Fla. The logistics makes sense, though. I am just in denial mode. PICTURES GUYS !! |

Thanks 250....supposed to get some heavy rain today, but mostly sunny tomorrow. So rather wait until tomorrow as I have some things to do today anyway....
But your cars are done out of the SC VPC, aren't they? So the ship should arrive tomorrow. So I'm thinking, if the process is identical, you should have your cars next Thu. or Fri., (not sure if the mileage matters, does it?) as our cars got to the port last Sat. if I'm correct. So you could be just one week away too.... Definitely we'll have to post pics. See you guys at the EB646-FRE 1 year reunion, same time next year! |

John, I have no idea if our cars are out of the VPC, if they are out, theyre on a truck, question is, are they out ?
As ParaDiddle says, it makes sense cars are at "port" when is time to deliver or transport are processed at VPC and out there to a truck. Ride is about 1300 miles, if trucks go nonstop is about 24+ hours, if stops are made, triple that, so by Monday. Hopefully my SA (when arrives to work about 1 pm ET, will update me. He says the status on his screen can jump 2 or three points suddently, say from port to In transit. Enjoy your beauty. |

Truckers can't go non-stop. They are required to sleep x amount of hours etc... Larger trucking operations will swap drivers, so the truck stays on the road 24 hours. I guess the question is what kind of transport company is shipping your car. Do they hot swap drivers, or is your car at a truck stop while the driver sleeps, buys more meth, and does a hooker. lol

Well, lets hope BMW contracts only with top line carriers, I am sure they are interested to get as many cars on the lots asap. If no 2 drivers the trip will be done in 2-3 days.

I just got home from picking my ride up. It's nicer than I remembered it. The interior is amazing with the Nav system. I'm such a techie, I couldn't imagine having a car without a computer like that. My only complaint is that it would be nice to have a "search" feature in the Ipod software. I have an 80gb Ipod pretty loaded and it takes forever to find things. I'll just have to adapt my playlists to compensate.
It's also raining here and dark, but I'll post photos for you guys when I clean the car next and it's sunny out! Thanks again to everyone on here... and good luck for the few of you who don't have their babies yet. |

Ok fellas, 4 hrs. until BMW ownership for me...feels quite amazing everything that lead up to this day. Strange, can't seem to remember anything about the buyer's remorse and the money anymore! *lol*
328xic--would like to see the rims...if the 335 had a 19" option I'm pretty sure I would have gone for it... Para, I would have liked to get iDrive, it was the cost that stopped me...any clue how an iPod would sound just plugged in to a car w/o the navi? I'll probably get a portable GPS in the next year... 250--didn't consider how far SC is from FLA...but still, at least now I don't believe the VPC is going to be a source of delay, so you figure nothing gets done on Sun. anyway, yet your vehicles should be still making their way down I-95...maybe you get your car next Sat., if not, Mon.-Tue.?? Let's wait and see... |

Hey John, have a blast today, I am truly jealous. I have switched off my expectations, my SA screen status has not changed a bit, still shows at port. Now I am wondering if it has to do with European Delivery, SA told me customs procedures are different because car was already at the hands of the owner. So as you say, sometime next week. You all enjoy your rides, and PICS !! please. Have a great weekend.

I'm a software developer, so Nav and bluetooth is mandatory for a nerd like me. I love the system. I had it mastered in about 45 minutes and I can navigate very fast now.
The ipod adapter is great but it could use a few improvements. It scrolls very slow and there's no search. It's fine if you have a nano, but i have an 80gb Ipod stuffed with music. I'll just have to manage my playlists better. Hopefully a software update will fix the slow scrolling issue and they'll add a search or alphabetical drill down. The quality of the audio coming from the ipod is also excellent. I doubt that the aux jack would sound as good at high volume. Here's my pics: Quote:

I got the car yesterday at noon....looks just like Para's but 335 and manual--everything seems same, color/interior/wood. It's a sweet car, but even without iDrive I don't know all the features yet.....going to take a leisurely 80 mi (each way) drive today, then head into NYC (not with the new car though, switching cars hehe). My baby will go from 23 to 185 mi by the end of today....only had 4 when I got her....
more to come! The E92 is a really nice ride.... |

I have put about 225 miles on the car over the weekend. It is truly amazing how well the car handles. Here are a few pictures.

I put about 180 miles on my car too today. Went up to north Jersey mostly via state highways, and back over the interstate but varied my speed as much as I could. The computer read back 27.3 mpg until I started driving the remainder in the city. I thought that's not bad!! But I've been driving like a granny, and probably will do so until 1200 mi. Now she'll sit in the garage until Fri. (unless I find an excuse to take her for a spin) as I don't want to drive the 335 to work or park it at the gym.....
