Most German-made exhausts end up being the cut and clamp style. It is one of the downfalls of having to abide by TUV standards. In Germany, the TUV regulates things like emissions output, noise, fitment and quality. The upside is, if you're buying a German made aftermarket product, the quality is going to be absolutely fantastic, as it all has to pass very strict inspection standards, but the downside is that emissions control items are usually left untouched. Because the post-cats are located in the midpipes, and the entire exhaust system is one piece from the downpipes back, it's impossible to leave the post-cats, and at the same time make a bolt on system.

If you look at most exhausts truly manufactured in Germany, you'll find that lots of them feature this cut and clamp method of installation.

We'll be getting some midpipes soon though, to solve that pesky post-cat problem for all of our "off road only" customers.

We've been very busy getting ready for Hot Import Nights, so won't be able to get sound clips until early next week.

Here's another shot for everyone, however:

Ahhhhhh.... I see. Thanks for the info, I didn't know that. I'm looking forward to your "off road use" products. Like everyone else, i'm dying for a sound clip. BTW, the rolled tips look very nice.

How much are you looking at for those mid pipes and would I be able to get it by May? If you need someone to put it on and take pics and sounds clips, etc. I'll do it, so problem.

Isn´t it quite weired? After all those weeks there is still no soundclip available
I mean this is the most important pro argument for an exhaust and I can´t find a clip on the whole wide web?
How can that be? Does it sound so crappy

Sound clip!

The exhaust is extremely refined, with a deep, bassy idle that isn't obnoxious. The sound on-boost is, as you can see, also quite pleasent to listen to.

Sounds Mental!

What are the little "crackling" noises that you hear?

Good eye! The owner of the car is a friend of mine who works at Patrick Mini. They let us do all kinds of stuff back there.

To answer the qustion about the 4x76mm sound clips, although we do have a local customer driving with a 4x76mm system, he is difficult to track down, as he is very busy. I can assure you, however, that the 4x76mm system sounds identical to the 2x90mm system you've already heard.

My borther owns a detail shop on those back-streets. When I return to Chicago next summer, I plan on getting my exhaust installed by him (amongst other toys).
