Hi James,

I just installed the set of H11 HID fogs on my E90 and have couple issues.

(1) The plastic adaptor to connect the two bare wire to the factory power/ground plug did not fit. Not only the plastic case didn't fit but the metal leads from the two bare wire did not fit factory plug.

(2) The fogs will turn on for 10 seconds, then the bulb out error comes on, and the car will turn the fogs off.

(3) The set I received is APX and not the DDM pictured. The ballasts are thicker / heavier and I don't have the black box (resistor?) on the cable between the ballast and the bulb. Can people who did not receive errors confirm if they have this black box?

Everything was installed according to instruction (let me know if this is incorrect):
car bulb plug -> 2 bare wire / plug -> ballasts -> plug / bulb

A bit upset since I paid more for this instead of the cheap ebay set because it's supposed to be error free. Since others have reported no errors, I think maybe you sent me the wrong set? I hope the other sets I ordered after have the resistor.

thanks

yeah...the majority of people whom have installed these have got no errors. Maybe you did something wrong? Have a fellow forum member come check it out.

Exactly, that's why I'm asking in the forum with what I did. I know the HID are working because they light up. Just that they are not drawing enough power to 'trick' the car that bulb is not out. Plus I'm concerned that my kit is is different brand than the one pictured.

Can someone post picture of their kit?

I can affirm you are not in the wrong!!! I bought a set off james thinking theyd be the small ones as pictured and I got some heavy black Apex ones set!!
I Figured oh well hopefully theyll still work..
WEll after 20min of trying differnt ways to install them I still get ERROR!!
I even spoke with james about the situation and was assured we will be able to send them back just like he stated!!

So James is not going to send us the error free kit in the picture to replace the big Apex ones we received? I tried calling today but nobody picked up and he has not answered my PM.

I'd rather James send us the correct DDM error free kit. I already installed the ballasts in my car.

Guys, we have some wildfire problems in San Diego and many areas are evacuated. Keep this in mind if there are some unanswered calls or unreplied mail for a day or two.
