Haha... Espelir?...did you have an s2k? I don't remember who I spoke to on the phone, sorry. She was very helpful though, and whenever I would call they were happy to help. Great company to deal with, with a great sounding exhaust. They have my recommendation.

^I had an Evo. It was mated with an HKS downpipe and a test pipe. That car had some droning, to say the least, hehe.

I promise this is the last question. I normally cruise at 80MPH on the highway...how bad is the droning in that region? I'd appreciated if Boosted or anyone else with the exhaust can chime in.

I'm so excited about this muffler! Congrats on it boosted. anyone know the difference between divorced and mated piping? what would be the benefit of having one over the other?? Very interested in this exhaust. My other choice was eisenmann but i heard they drone. Its its a lot more $ but its supposed to sound awsome at WOT. Can anyone answer my question about the piping?

Haha... I feel your pain. I had a turbo s2k with a single 3" exhaust, and I think that was the definition of drone.

Honestly, I haven't cruised at 80mph on the highway yet. I knew that people would be asking about drone so when I was driving yesterday on the hwy I tried cruising at 60mph, 65mph, and 70mph in both 5th and 6th gear. I am the type of person that doesn't lug the engine, I usually keep the car in 5th gear until 65-70mph so drone really isn't an issue. If you are the type of person that lugs the engine and puts it into 6th at 40mph than I am willing to bet you will get some drone. I won't say that this exhaust is droneless, after all any exhaust with some substantial sound to it really isn't, but for an exhaust that sounds this aggressive the drone is very minimal. It depends on how you drive, but when I cruise at 70mph in 6th gear, it ranges from very little drone to almost nothing depending on my throttle position, but if you had an evo with an exhaust than this will seem silent to you. For me, the drone isn't an issue at all with this exhuast, but I know that some people feel if they hear any drone at all its unacceptable, and I think that those type of people should just keep the stock exhaust on. When I tried cruising at 60mph in 6th gear, there was some drone, but the RPMs are all the way down so when you give it a little gas to go up an incline there is some drone. When I was at 65mph in 5th or 6th gear, there was really no drone. I mean, you can still hear that you have an exhaust, but its not annoying drone, it sounds good to me. At 80mph I would assume that drone wouldn't be an issue in 6th gear since the exhaust actually gets quieter inside the car with higher revs. This exhaust is definitely louder down low inside the car than it is up top. From outside the car it sounds great at WOT, but inside it seems tamer at higher RPMs. Overall, the drone is very minimal with the way that I drive, and I am completely satisfied with it. For an exhaust to have this much sound, with that little bit of drone, I think its a hard combo to find. I'll try to cruise at 80, and let you know.

*edit* When I was driving before I cruised at 80mph to see if there was any drone and it was pretty damn close to stock so no worries there. BTW, I filmed a bunch of clips before with my camcorder, but like an idiot I rewinded the tape to play it back and then took some more clips and without realizing it I recorded over all of them. I'll take new ones tomorrow.

^Looking forward to seeing your vids, Boosted.

I'm really excited about this. I wasn't too impressed with the previous catbacks..and the only other one that I like is only for an E92. I will call CPE tomorrow.

I called CPE a while ago. Nice lady picked up the phone and took my order. I've already been emailed my invoice and tracking number. She said that they had several in stock and mine should ship out today. I hope that I get it by this weekend.

That's great, congrats. Now all you need is to pick up a can of flat black high temp paint if you want the stealth look.

LOL I like the bling. Plus if I get stopped by the (not) so car friendly police around here, I'm sure the car will still pass smog and be within the legal dB range.

We did the black paint trick on the Evos too..mainly because we didn't want to risk getting pulled over and being sent to a referee station and go back to stock since we were quite modified. We even had a 'stocker than stock' looking muffler and exhaust tip.

I hope I get it by this weekend so I can throw it on the car.

I PM'd you back. If you hit it with some sandpaper and some rubbing alcohol to make sure there is no oil or grime on it, you will be fine. BTW, make sure that you use a high heat paint. The duplicolor that I bought was good to 1200 or 1300 degrees, not the crap 500 degree one.

Wow, I just came back to this thread after returning from Thanksgiving, and I couldn't be happier with the replies that we've gotten so far. Thank you BoostedBMW for sharing your feedback! We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with everyone, as I know many people were waiting for some more unbiased feedback. So thank you very sincerely. And of course, I'm just downright tickled that you're enjoying it so far

I just went and checked and we have 6 units that are still unspoken for. So if anyone is still interested in picking one of these for the $1199 sale price you might want to act soon. We'll be making another run of these exhaust systems, but the price will increase.

If anyone has any installation issues or questions about the exhaust itself I'll be happy to answer them!

It's been about 1 month for me. And I can honestly say, I'm just as happy as Day 1.

Do you guys, who are slammed, have issues with scraping the mufflers since they hang sorta low? Just a random question.

According to their instructions you need....

- 12mm Socket
- 14mm Socket
- 1/2" Socket
- T45 Torx
- Socket Wrench
- Pliers
- Crescent Wrench
- Reciprocating Saw
- Car Jack
- WD40
- Shop Towel
- Jack Stands

I'm not sure why it says that you need a reciprocating saw, that is probably a typo since everything is bolt-on. From what I can remember though, I think that you can ditch the pliers and you will also need an 18mm open-end wrench, and a deep 12mm socket. Don't worry, you don't need any funky tools for the install.

I believe the clearance is the same as stock. They measured it at the shop.
