though apparently much less than perfect

Quote:
When looking at UTQG ratings it is important to realize that the Department of Transportation does not conduct the tests. The grades are assigned by the tire manufacturers based on their test results or those conducted by an independent testing company they have hired. The NHTSA has the right to inspect the tire manufacturer's data and can fine them if inconsistencies are found
...
Unfortunately, the rating that is of the most interest to consumers is the one that appears to be the least consistent. While the Treadwear Grade was originally intended to be assigned purely scientifically, it has also become a marketing tool used by manufacturers to help position and promote their tires

what years are those? I'm needing a 997 at least... most likely a 997.2 (09 or newer). Not to mention I'm probably at least a year away from anything unless I get an 07-08 Cayman S.

Idk there is a lot of love out there for the AD08s and Direzzas, I've also heard the RE-11's wear sub-optimally depending on how much track time you give them

It's not about looks!

Yea I know what you mean though...I have a way of finding things of pure function aesthetically pleasing...so just knowing that it's not a BS tire makes it look better if that makes any sense
