Basically, a BMW tech, or anything with a code reading tool can plug into your OBD port and there will be a code that literally means "exhaust valve actuator un plugged" ... that's about it. I've never seen it affect anyone's warranty, though BMWNA's official stance on it is that it exists to build heat in the cats. Even Though they offer the BMW Performance Exhaust, which doesn't have the valve. Are you sure you have it? You're a single side exit, are you not? I tried to find alpineweiss' post regarding him bypassing it, but couldn't see it
It was in a message between me and him. He didn't talk about it, just that he had done it.

Like I said above, I'm not sure you have it, I searched (sort of) and didn't come up with much. It's well documented on the E9x chassis and was one of the first things I did on my car. Literally took me about 5min after reading through where to find it and what it looks like.

You aren't referring to the X-delete package are you? I'd make sure you're both on the same page with this...I'm not sure why a single exit exhaust would have a bypass valve...assuming that it's a single pipe from the turbo (n55 right?) back to a muffler with dual tips...

Yeah I know but I was talking about getting KWs instead of the BMW exhaust, not the per suspension

Just the fact that my car is getting suspension tomorrow reduces its 'Ring time by 35 seconds, and once it's actually installed its more like 1min

don't forget this X3 is an N55 now so it will give it some performance gains with DP's

are N55 DP gains better than N54 DP gains? I recall seeing some awesome DP gains with a tune for N54s but won't lie I haven't been following the N55 scene as much

it think the entire system is better breathing in general so its gotta be either the same or better. I mean I feel like I added 25 more tq to this car since yesterday and my tune isn't even set up for DP's.

hahahaha no no no I'm very keen on both the US and European special order options and configurations. I know what the exhaust flap delete does, I just don't know how much I trust a bunch of "black tinted taillights" on youtube to help me decide if I want to do it.

But yeah it's the N55 engine. Again, I don't know the setup or the logistics of the exhaust system in my car. Probably should though....

Thanks for being patient with me hahhaa. Should I ask my dealer or just to be safe should it be an under the table modification?

I wouldn't ask the dealer straight up but I wouldn't make a huge effort to keep it hidden...I've gone in with the flap de-activated a few times with no problems. I'd get more specifics from fellow F25 owners or those familiar with the chassis. If it's a simple unplug procedure, I'd just try it out and decide whether or not it's worth it to leave it open.

ummmm......yeah....

So what exactly are you saying? People who have blackened tailights aren't to be trusted?
