Just finished pressing in my modified M3 bushings I picked up from the machine shop into Xdrive control arms, like a glove.

These being M3 bushings are hard to do as I have to compress the bushing, cut it to spec and then press it into the arm. Stock bushings are very easy they come out and go in with a press almost no force required, could probably do it with a hand tool

Sucks about the rubber, good practice to align after most types of suspension work. Also not a horrible idea to do it every couple years regardless. At least it wasn't a set of expensive Michelins.
I guess AWD have different arms than RWD(M or not) so swapping arms may not have been an option? Either way, I hope you get things sorted soon. |

Nothing wrong with them. Doing these for a guy local to me that wants them on his xdrive car. But in retrospect I'm not 100% sure about the ones on my car since I cut them myself instead of having the machine shop do them. In 50/50 between taking it to get aligned as it is now and see if it's fine with how I cut them or if taking them out and wasting a set of bushings and putting these perfect ones in

I mean it was a nice thing to consider when I first heard of it but it's such an obvious alignment fault that there's no way to cover it up. I'll still try and push for it but doubt it'll get anywhere.
I think the best I could do is try to bribe the tech there lol but I know they would probably get in trouble when a tire goes back to the manufacturer and it doesn't look like a tire fault but rather the vehicle it was on. Now I'm looking for a couple Indy 500s or a similar tire if anyone has any suggestions, I really like these and their price too I'll be getting it aligned this time lol specially since coloradoe9x has the same control arm mod I have and that car was off |

Did some repairs of small things that individually don't doom a car but cumulatively add up to a trip to the crusher. Rusty brake line bracket, replacing the lines with copper-nickel. The threaded inserts on the bottom of the trunk liner that unscrewed along with their rusted bolts, got a assortment of those for $8 on ebay and replaced the corroded muffler heat shield.

You absolutely could do brake lines, the copper-nickel brake line is very easy to bend, and the $20 flare tool is just a little clamp with a forming die. There really ain't nothing to it but to do it. |
