yep, that's why it's always better to use head lights with projectors.

that said, when my friend had his e36, he added an hid kit to his non-projector us-spec headlights. it was not the best, but it was decent. that said, it was still a whole lot better than the halogen bulb set up.

then, when he did it to his civic, he ran into a bunch of issues getting the light to focus right and had to add light shields for the glare.

i had an hid kit on my e34 as well, but i had euro-spec projectors. beam pattern was pretty good and so much more light. was worth every penny.

yea, reflector style head lights (non-projectors) are not the best candidates for hid kits.

Alice, he does have halogen. I believe there are model specific kits out for the e90. If he bought a universal kit, that may be the reason why it's not fitting properly.
