I don't buy cars new. I let other guys think they have the rarest finds in the world and then let them take the depreciation hit. What I desperately want is the rarest of all BMW's, but now you have it and suddenly its not so rare.

You clearly have no idea what's involved in cracking a late model BMW headlight...whether you attempt it yourself or send it out, it's an involved process and there's always the risk element of needing a new headlight from breaking one, necessitating a $1k replacement.

I chose to make what was a common mod. From a cost benefit perspective, I made a choice....like buying a car I could afford instead of leasing one I couldn't otherwise.

By that logic, why mod a car at all? I mean, really. Instead of getting a 335 and modding it you should wait until you can afford an M3. Or instead of leasing an X3 and modding it you should just wait until you could get an x5 or x6. Or instead of some muffler delete mod, you should wait until you can buy a new exhaust....but wait, they don't make them for the rarest of all bmw's yet.

Cuz depreciation doesn't affect you on a lease? And a voided warranty? What would void your warranty other than mods? And that would happen on a leased or purchased car. Do you have any clue what you are talking about?

Let's retrace our steps. Arguing with him again, because his indignant attitude is annoying, I chose to jab at him in the same realm in which he jabbed at me.

I would have put the taillights to rest, but he had to keep it up. I retaliated. Let's cry about it.

And yuppie cute-ute or "aren't you mad you don't have a winter car nearly as fast as your summer car?"

And the GLK? MMmmhmmhmmmm. I love cheap plastics and put-put engines. I also love buying cars at the low end of the legacy of a car company so I can say I have one.
