CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! TSS- Sept. 24 at HPA
CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
We have 17 Volunteers for the Tire Rack Teen Street Survival School (TSS) on September 24, 2011, 8 shy of the 25 needed for a successful event so not to overwork and create the dreaded "Volunteer Burnout". With 25 students enrolled, it's a good bet we will reach the 30 student limit by the time of the School. More attention and interest is being generated in TSS, as noted in the recent articles recognizing Consumer Reports using their test rack for a TSS event and Grassroots Motorsports active participation. The event is FIVE Saturdays from now! Those who have previous experience realize how important it is to have the volunteer team in place assisting the instructors and students, providing as much repetition of the exercises as possible to effectively burn-in driving and reaction skills of this high value event. Understanding not everyone is available, we still need your help in referring someone we could contact to come out. Also, big thanks to the 17 who have responded and committed. And yes, we need your referrals of possible volunteer prospects too: Your help will be greatly appreciated. For additional information, contact: Jim Iden, jiden@sbcglobal.net BMWCCA Houston Chapter Life Member For those unfamiliar with TSS visit http://www.streetsurvival.org/

not that I have a bmw yet to even qualify for any meet by all mean, haha. oh here is my topic of the moment: This really annoys the hell out of me lately: ok: why is it that every single guy with a camera thinks that he is a professional photographer nowadays???? it takes people years of training, schooling and practicing, etc...just to be a photographer. I am on many car forums and 2/3 of them boys are "professional photographers" with pics and names on their pictures as "so and so photography" WHY IS THAT? |

some people use the word "professional" rather loosely. i have @ $10K worth of camera equipment and people pay for my work. i made $1000 this weekend taking pictures of elementary schools and kids playing baseball. it's not up to the photographer to claim his work is professional - it's up to his clients ![]() |

agree.
see, this is what I am talking about. People like you who actually does it for a fee and got good income from it then yes you are a photographer. not anyone with a camera, haha |

there are a lot of kids nowadays claiming to be professionals because mommy or daddy bought them an entry level DSLR.
they take pictures of themselves in the bathroom, edit the living shit out of them, and then post the grainy and atrocious pictures on facebook or myspace or whatever networking site they chose to be on and call themselves professionals, HAHAHA !!!!! |
