I need this FMIC asap. Yesterday I was driving home from work and pushing the car. I went into limp mode. So I'm thinking this intercooler will help with the stock oil cooler for that not to happen again.

Are you sure that's why you went into limp mode? Did you read the DME codes? Maybe you had a misfire or something?

I had too much going on so I didnt get to read codes. I turned the car off/on and it was gone. So thats why I think it was because of that but I may be wrong.

Yeah read the codes...I've had this happen...could probably be a million things but in my case it was the vanish solenoids. Very likely a misfire tho. I honestly doubt it had anything to do with your stock IC.

You shouldn't have to replicate the issue, the codes should still be there. Just check the codes.

Guys thanks so much for the help.

I still want to get this FMIC just to be on the safe side.

thanks everyone for the compliments and also with the patience.

was on vacation for a week and half (last minute getaway) so was barely on the website.

Tiago got some log's for you, so that should calm everyone down.

Anyways come home to a bunch of oil underneath the car. My buddy and also mechanic (only person I trust under my car's hood, not even myself) came over and looked at it. The Inlet pipe for the transmission that goes to the heat exchanger touched my drive belt pulley and ruptured it. The tranmission would start leaking as soon as car started. Long story short, car's being towed to a shop to get on a lift to get that replaced.

Once all said and done I have to take it to get some stuff done at the dealership, will get logs one day.

That one will be as bolt on as the stock intercooler. I personally prefer the removal of the stock connectors since they're an obvious restriction and almost every intercooler on the market (ETS, AMS, Helix) removes the stock connectors as well. The removal of the stock connectors are completely reversible in case the car is put back to stock & 100% worth the 20 minutes it takes to remove/reinstall.
Good to hear, I think it could be a more of a success than the 7". Like some have said, most here are not tracking our cars and with that some are okay not getting the absolute best grand daddy of an intercooler if it is affordable. I have a problem spending over 600 dollars for a heatsink because I like my money.

RE: the 5 inch core

If it doesn't come with any plumbing, will any other aftermarket plumbing work? Will there be an option through VRSF to add plumbing? And how much of a restriction are the stock couplers if no other piping options are available?

Yeah probably not...unless there's some type of code clearing functioned turned on that might erase it...I'm not familiar with the JB4 tho. GL Oma...keep us posted.

Ohh yeah, you're right. I just noticed his sig says VRSF DPs so I'm sure he has CANclear on to prevent cat codes. If that's the case then he will need to recreate the limp mode

The stock piping is about 2.5" which is adequate. The major restriction is the 2" neck down at the stock connector.

I've listed the intercooler on the website and the group buy/pre-sale is now officially available! The kits are scheduled to arrive in about 2 weeks but I'm calling it mid-late August to be safe. I'll start a thread in the correct section in a bit but for now all orders will be handled/processed directly on the website

The GB price for those who have already purchased DP's or are purchasing DP's will be $415. Just throw the order number of your previous order in the order notes and we'll apply the discount once verified

The 5" is going to be about $35-40 less.

Happily involved with my ets 5" but I like the look of this unit. If I no longer have stock pipeing, what are my options?

No clue. Going to limit it to either 25 kits or 2-3 weeks to give guys a chance to purchase.
