This is a place worth seeing, tucked away hidden off a back road, this dude has barns just stacked to the rafters with antique bike parts and overtop of the old school crusty showroom is a museum that blows the one at the Harley factory away, show u if you're ever in the area. https://nickscustomcycles.com/About-Us/Antique-Showroom

Two words: DO IT!!!

Mine developed some shifting issues going from 2-3 and 4-3, was on the phone with Baker a bunch of times, sent them pics, and vids, and finally they said to ship it back to be diagnosed and rebuilt or replaced. Top notch customer service form them. They took all the time I needed on the phone, and got back to me very quickly.

Can;t recommend them enough.

Cheers!

If I decide not to sell it mebbe. I was never into baggers, I bought it for the wife to be comfy on but she doesn't like climbing on and off it, she likes the old sporty that she can just throw a leg over. It's fast tho, 96" S&S motor w/ Super G carb. Thinking of taking it to Nicks and trading for a FX. You gotta see the museum.

Go figger I've had luck pretty often doing a PN search and looking for things ppl have misidentified in the description, or left out the pertinent part that makes it worth $, like this was just listed as "N51 Air Intake Manifold OEM 11617559523", nothing about 3-stage or good for upgrade or anything. I got that magnesium VC for $50 cause it was identified as a M52 VC, so matter how you search something is wrong with results, but the PN and pic were right.
I have pretty good luck with searching for the incorrect spelling for many parts, perfect example right here:

That's a good one too yeah you gotta take advantage of ppl who don't know what they're selling and/or don't know how to advertise it.

Had a feeling I should have folded my mirror when parking on a busy road. Never had this happen before so that's why I've never done it. Found one on car-part.com for $70 so hopefully it works out. It was hard finding a blue-tinted glass one haha.

You'll have to take me when I come down to visit!

FXST Softails are low slung, and great for solo and 2-up with the right suspension setup.

Cheers!

Bought the bits to do the rocker cover gasket.

But mission creep is rearing it's ugly head. Dreams of removing the camshafts to replace the noisy tappets and potentially leaky valve stem oil seals keep coming into my head. If I knew for a fact the oil consumption wasn't down to my 2.5 oil scraper rings I'd be more tempted.

Anyone actually replaced the valve stem oil seals and had it fix high oil consumption on an N52 2.5?

I pulled the carfax up. Doesn't show if it was ordered or not.

Carfax:https://www.carfaxonline.com/auction...6bsYvPkcCGzA==
Well I'm all out of ideas
Check the build date and then the pdi date if it shows on car fax then see when it was registered on car fax that should give you an idea if it was special ordered or not. If it was registered right after it landed at the dealership good chance it was a special order but if it sat on the lot for a week or 2 befor being registered good chance it was just a normal order.

Me lol. Never been a fan of the V8 sound.

I test drove an M3 right after an F30 335i. While it was way better, the E82 135i I drove the next day lead me to the decision the M3 was not nearly worth the big price difference over a 335(since 4 doors vs 135). Plus the straight 6 does daily drive duties much better.

Snagged a bent stepped 7" IC as the damage looks superficial and it cost me less than $100. Hopefully there's no hidden breach somewhere. Just waiting for couplers to come in the mail

The build date is 01/09

It was sold on 3/31/2009 with 10 miles on the clock

Welp, it looks like it was sitting on the dealership lot for 2 months

I work at a dealership and we have cars sit here 1 to 2 years some times. 2 months is pretty quick turn around but then again we usually have around 1000 cars on our lot pre COVID

Cars and bikes go hand and hand, no one can tell me otherwise

Good luck on that one brother! Looks pretty in depth

Would be nice if our province's motorcycle insurance policies weren't so asinine. Not going to get political but that's the #1 reason why no one rides over here.

You end up paying more than the bike it worth per year in insurance alone.

I'd really love a bike but it just isn't worth it financially.

Maybe I'll ask him. But, that might be weird.

This is why I only have liability on my bike. I bought it when I was 20 for $2700. Full coverage at my age came out to 3200/year. I'm now 30, zero accidents, 1 speeding ticket, full coverage is still unreasonably expensive
