Got better and decided to paint my winter wheel setup. The 195s needed their curb rash to be cleaned up so i started with sanding and fillable primer. Finished it off with five coats of bronze and 3 cots of clear coat. Only did one today so i could see if i actually like the color. What do you guys think?

Old335i I love that! What kind of primer, paint and sandpaper (grit)? I've been thinking about paining mine black. And what's the white stuff you used to protect the tires, looks like 3 x 5 cards.

It was actually way easier than i thought
60 grit then 400 grit the used rust oleum fillable and sand able primer. Sanded with the 400 grit again. One more primer for then five coats of duplicolor bronze wheel paint then duplicolor gloss clear coat! Good luck with your my friend! Post some pictures!

I had a similar color on my e30's Borbet type A's at one point: Rustoleum oil rubbed bronze. It was a bit darker and I didn't love it as much, and the quality of the job wasn't as good as yours appears to be in pics. I ended up redoing them in silver which really popped.

What color is your e90? I think that makes a big difference regarding how well bronze wheels will work

Old335i are you in Virginia? I am.

These look great! I have a set of curb rashed style 161s that I like but not enough to professionally refinish, if I could make them look this good I'd be happy. I wouldn't do bronze but this gives me hope you can DIY some nice looking wheels.

So my 325i is using a litre of oil every 400ish miles and having done my research it looks like the 2.5 has piston ring issues. I wanted a 3.0 but manual E91s go for double what I'm into my 325i for in the UK and are really rare. I've been offered a used 3.0 with 92k at a very fair price from a car that overheated.

But 1) anyone ever head of the block warping on an N5x? 2) is it OK to skim the head? I've heard that throws out the timing on the B series because the chain path is shorter. I'm guessing it depends on how much you skim it.

A good 3.0 is £1500+ here and I can get this one for £500. If I bought a £1500 quid engine I'd still want to strip it down and rebuild it a bit.

Installed Forge Diverter Valves.

Used yellow springs, as I'm running MHD 2+

Definitely more turbo spool & definitely more throttle response.

Very happy with the purchase!

I had that on my E90 when I brought it from the first owner.

Ended up getting the whole front bumper repaired and repainted for $150-$200.

The guy came to my house and painted the bumper within a few hours.

Then he came back the next day and applied 2-3 coats of clear coat.

All I did was take the bumper off the car so it's easier for him to repaint it.

I got a Garmin 55 Dash Cam as a gift over a year ago, since I'm going on a long drive tomorrow I would set it up finally. Well, dummy my somehow separated the wires that came with it(Cigarette Lighter -> Micro USB). First I tried using a USB -> Micro USB wire I had lying around and it wasn't working in the car, Dash Cam wouldn't recognize it or charge/take power from it.

Figured there was some weird voltage reason so I drove over to O'Reilly's and picked up a generic Cigarette Lighter -> Micro USB. Excited, I try to plug it in to get the dashcam up and running right away for the drive home. Well, neither the cigarette lighter port in my armrest, or under my glove box were working. Pull the fuse - yep, blown #8 fuse. Walk back into O'Reilly's because I'm still in the parking lot and buy a 20A fuse. After I replaced the fuse I saw lights on the charger! Success! Now I can record every jerkoff I run into on the road now! Nope - 'This charger is not suitable for the Dash Cam, please use provided charger.' That's the error message I got! Are you kidding me....

It does charge with the Micro USB cable when I plug it into my computer, but without constant power it dies very quickly(always recording, 1440p). Coincidentally, where I am travelling to tomorrow should be where I left the provided, 'proper' charging/power cable. If that doesn't work, I'm throwing this thing into the ocean. Seriously.

Addendum: I additionally spent approximately two hours trying to connect the Garmin 55 Dash Cam to the Garmin phone application. Until I realized that for some reason the Garmin 55 Dash Cam is not supported on the apps. The Garmin 45 is supported, so is the Garmin 56 and Garmin 65, just not the 55.... I swear with tech this always happens to me, I always get the freakin' weird model that has issues. Have to be grateful though, it was a free gift after all!

Nice, I would have maybe tried to get some filler onto the divots and sanding down before painting for that 'like-new' finish. It was worth it when I had my wheels painted.

Did you just rattle-can? Pretty good job for not even dismounting the tires.

The other day I did the oil filter housing gasket, the sensor on the lower hose O-Ring, the coolant flange and it's hose, new serpentine belt, all new coolant, and cleaned off as much oil as I could. The breathing procedure of the coolant system made it so coolant got on the manifold and burned off soon after I started the car. I didn't realize it was due to this and all I saw was my car smoking a ton but after a second of thinking I wasn't scared shitless anymore lol.

Oh when I do the cooling system on my car and I'm pouring the distilled water I let it splash and I let a generous amount out of the bleed screw before I am satisfied. It gets all over the headers and causes a little vape show on startup. When I flushed with multiple gallons of distilled the other day, there was so much smoke....
