Teaser
I know you guys don't need anymore teasers but here's one anyway. After 13 trial and error flashes I was able to isolate where the switch is located that enables the gear display when in D. So just like the Alpina cal, ours will now have the D1 to D6 in the display!
Sorry that we can't answer when this will be all ready and available but I know RayBan is working diligently on it. |

The 6HP26TÜ is the same as the 6HP28. My car is build in december 2006. Checked the type plate on the tranny a few days ago and it states it is a 6HP28.

Internal BMW named it as 6HP26TÜ but ZF produces it as 6HP28, good for 700NM/516ft lb according to ZF specs. On Real Oem it is 6HP26Z to complicate things even more but anyway, that is to ignore. Real confusing but that is typical BMW, like for example our cars, why 335d, suggesting it is a 3500cc when it is in fact a 3000cc or the 550d, also a 3000cc.

The dates I posted are from the BMW parts catalogue. It may not be the most reliable source, but it is the best I found.
However, that shows once more, that gathering cals from cars in the field is important. Not for the actual tool itself (if it's a 2nd gen it will work, regardless of build date), but for not setting false flags in the market. |

No prob.
Plate is located at the driver site. Just remove a few screws of the plastic sheet that surrounds the gearbox at that site, fold it down a little and you will see de (tiny) info plate. It is located between the middle and the back end of the gearbox.

I'd like to do a dump of my 2011 x5 35d, but my friends inpa cable is not working. I get light for battery but not for ignition. Meanwhile it works fine on his 2007 e60 m5 without issues.
I'm able to read many things through torque and BT adapter. I also can use an elm327 usb cable for generic diagnostics. The icom he has works with my car, but that's not set up for inpa, it uses ip addressing, so confusing this bmw obd stuff. He was able to code my modules with that. |

You must use K+DCAN cable for LCI's - 1 stop electronics, don't buy the cheap eBay cables. (been there done that) |

In 09-10 BMW re-used the pin 8 position for ethernet, so if you have an interface that has pin 7-8 connected (and most of the ones you find on eBay and such do), you'll get errors trying to communicate with the car because of the ethernet connection at pin 8 interfering with the D-CAN connection on pin 7.
