I know most people dont like v2 but I prefer it... the pedal is more predictable.

+1, I LOVE v2 and prefer it, especially at the track as it is a billion times easier to modulate and control the throttle. I like having the extra control over the vehicle to do what I want it to do.

I have mine plugged in only when I need to log something. I usually keep it in my glovebox.

So BMW limits auto trans cars to about 2,500 RPM on stalling up for launch? That's as far as my car would let me go. I had it in DS.

Cobb doesn't override this I guess? I'm running Stage 1 93 octane v202 map.

I literally just updated my AP and it gave me V203 maps (still stage 1). I have searched for it but nothing shows up. Is anyone else aware of this update? There are no V1 or V2 options, just:

stage 0 v200
stage 1 v203 91
stage 1 v203 93
stage 1 ACN91 v203
valet v200

I see std, v1 and v2 for my I8A0S ecu. There are total of three 93 octane maps, three 91 octane maps and that's not counting the valet, stock and ACN maps.

I've never seen v203 maps. COBB, care to chime in?

If you leave the AP connected with the ignition switch off, it won't allow the car's BCM to sleep. I made that mistake a few months ago and came back to find a battery drain DTC active. Fortunately I only left the car like that for a couple hours and it might have been resolved with an AP firmware update, but beware the risk.

It can't be overridden-- stall speed isn't a function of the tune either, but a mechanical (er, hydromechanical) function of the torque converter.

On that note, I would like to see what transmission options can be tuned in future releases. If the "DS" engagement sets different shift parameters in the DME, I would love to see the AP utilize those specific cells to increase shift firmness and/or hydraulic line pressure.

I'm also hoping the shift delay and torque management can be reduced through the tune in future revisions.

The v203 maps are a slight update to how the auto cars shift. We are slowly rolling out these changes to the different ROMs. The v203 maps are available by selecting the Beta Firmware option on AP Manager.

Does the Cobb re-flash overwrite dealer-provided software updates needed for HPFP

I've been digging through this thread looking for the answer. Apologies if it's already been addressed.

I installed my AP ~1 week before my car went in for an OEM Alarm install. OFC i uninstalled the AP before i drove to the dealer. But while my car was in the shop my SA told me that they wanted to replace HPFP and four injectors. Also a software update was needed. The car felt great when i picked it up, way more power. Finally my question: if i reinstall my AP would it overwrite the recent software patches? Is this safe? TIA

Just like my email reply, can you elaborate on what shift differences there are vs the v202 maps?

I updated to the new beta firmware but no v203 maps for me.

sorry, been out of pocket... but yeah, I plugged the AP into my computer and it had new firmware available. I downloaded and installed it, and now I have the v203 maps. I like it, like v202 but possibly a bit smoother... but still not "weak" like V1 or V2. It might be the same really. I am 6MT and apparently it had some small updates for automatics?

Anyway, only took about 1-2 minutes to update my car. I do have "beta maps" selected so it could be just that. I also have MS stage 1 intake, AMS FMIC, Synapse BOV and charge pipe kit/combo, and AR 3" catless/coated DP's. Can't wait for Stage 2

Do the v203 maps contain any updates for MT cars at all? ..or is it just updates for AT cars?

Also, are there going to be any maps that get rid of more of the lag when you go WOT from a dead stop without brake torqueing?

The v203 mapping provides slightly smoother shifting on the AT cars. No changes for the MT cars.
