As an owner of multiple 5.2 V10 cars over the years (Huracan and R8 plus and performance)

It’s not that different in performance, believe it.

Even the 600hp version would have been taken to Gapplebee’s. My 640hp EVO barely pulls on a 602hp R8 plus as it is.

Edit: Also to add; you can’t get the 602hp V10 with the spyder anymore.

assuming you're talking huracan? my 22 R8 spyder is 602hp.

Sorry, I was thinking Huracan but I forgot since the EVO, even the base model Huracan Spyders are now LP610's, not LP580's.

Either way though, the R8 Spyder and Huracan LP610 Variants will still struggle against a C8Z.

I was thinking it was 580's or 640's only for the Huracan with the R8 slotting in between at 560/600.

I have a C8Z waiting to be built but I doubt I will ever race myself.

Awesome it was. The point that should be taken from that vid is how extremely difficult it is to launch a motorbike by balancing traction vs. wheelie.

And ut oh, Jason said... SUPERCAR.

Because we're on a BMW forum.

I don't think all new cars are overpriced. The Z06 is GM's first supercar starting at 106k, if you can get one at MSRP and you don't go crazy with the option boxes. Yet people here think it's too much, and even on the corvette forum they think that's too much.

Yet people are ok with spending 140k for an M4 CSL.

That was my point when i mentioned the CSL. And that's only example. And i mentioned it because we're on a BMW forum.

And the C8Z is a supercar.

That big wheelie was just for the video, because it's wasted motion on a drag strip. That's power that's not driving the bike forward.

When I still had a sportbike, took it the drag strip a couple of times for fun. This would have been like 2005. The best launch means MURDERING the clutch as you just have the front wheel skimming the ground.

My best was an 11.19 @ 121 mph on a tuned 2004 R6. I think it put a whopping 108 hp to the rear wheel.

Regardless of the video antics, launching a motorbike to gain maximum trap speed is hundreds of times more difficult than setting launch parameters in a C8 and stomping on the gas pedal. While Randy Probst is more a motorcyclist than car racer (based on his bio) they left the motorcycle race task to a professional.

While I never took my 1990 CBR 1000 to a drag strip to time it, but its 132 HP easily spun the rear tire at will. It was difficult to find the proper riding position to balance it between wheel spin and standing it up on end. That bike is why it don't get excited about car 0 - 60 times too much, because 30 years ago any production car could never match acceleration times the liter-class sport bikes of the day could produce in stock configuration right out of the crate.

The numerous videos of young women strapping on a helmet and pushing a few buttons then firewalling the pedal looks quite boring to me. I'd do that act about 3 times before I'd get sleepy for lack of excitement.

Throw in the Plaid with its electric whine, nah. Snore.

For sure. When it comes to bikes, it's all about the rider!! I could beat so many faster bikes back in the day cause guys just couldn't launch them!! Lol. I had my GSXR 750 down to perfection. I'd be grabbing 3rd gear when they were coming into 2nd.

C8 Corvette Z06 wins Road and Tracks 2023 Performance car of the year, easily beating the gt4rs and M4CSL.

"Most important, prices for the Z06 coupe start at $109,295, a raging bargain for something that feels so exotic." According to R&T
