Just buy something that's already built with lots of spares. You don't want to spend weekends putting stuff together or pulling a head off a motor. Built spec Miatas are all over the place, and buy it with the trailer if you don't have one already. Most people will include enough spare wheels and tires, and sometimes engines too.

True, but it would REALLY REALLY suck if you wrecked your 335i on track vs just sucking if you wrecked a spec Miata race car.

I don't like buying a car that someone has already built, i'm not a big fan of Miatas either. When i sold my track car, i gave the kid all the spare parts. I still have a lot of spare parts left over esp crap wheels.

Ah ok. Depends what you're looking for I guess. Turn-key race cars are nice though if you really just want to race and don't want to spend time wrenching and you can fine tune, instead of.... well, fully tune.
