Today I replaced my original 13 year old hood badge after it flew off somewhere on the highway. Had to use a drill bit on the right hole and played the claw crane game with a paper clip for about an hour to remove a silver plastic piece that fell inside:

Got our first 2021 Ford Mach E.
First time I've actually seen it in the Chicago Land area. Drove it and it's very responsive. Obviously, because it's an electric car. $51k MSRP. I'm pretty sure we're going to sell it either at sticker or above ![]() That's going to be with every ford dealership that's got one. |

I will warn you the 135 muffler is like 40 lbs, so if you're trying to save that precious weight I'd get an AA Gen 2 or something. I've already accepted my car is slow so adding weight means nothing to me lol

Coffee run, then topped off the car for the week and restocked on e85. Finally gave my car a much needed bath. It is crazy how dirty a few hours in the twisties makes this car. I think this color is actually higher maintenance than black somehow. Attached before/after of yesterday's canyon session

Yep, just did all three of mine on my 2010 E91. Front passenger was shot when I got it so I had covered it with leather. Looked nice and worked but not able to pull apart for door panel removal. So when I did speakers recently, I went for a replacement. Then when I did the back doors, I saw the rears were starting to get sticky/gooey so did those as well.

I spent 5 hours removing my dpf the worst job ever on a rhd 330d then I drilled a 3inch hole all the way through the cat and dpf then smashed the dpf out and then the rest of the cat so it was completely empty. Then it only took an hour and half to refit. Then wrote the map to the car and drove and what a difference it made. Totally woke the car up

It was a beautiful day yesterday so I took the opportunity to wash and detail my car. The license plate screws were looking pretty grotty and rusty so I decided to swap them out for some bullet studs I had kicking around in the toolbox. That little job turned into a little more than I bargained for because the screws turned out to be 5mm and the studs are 6mm. I had to remove the LP bracket, knock the nut inserts out then drill and tap them to 6mm. Next I had to shorten the studs so they wouldn't protrude through the LP bracket and damage the trunk lid. Then I had to reattach the little foam bumpers on the nut inserts on the back of the bracket with some 3M double sided foam trim tape. After all that everything went back together easily and I think it looks much better than those rusty old phillips head screws.

Gave her a “maintenance” wash.
I applied some dealer spray wax. I got a bottle from my job. Not sure what kinda wax it is but i usually apply spray wax every time I wash the car just to maintain the finish. Last edited by Mosaud1998; 04-25-2021 at 01:18 PM.. |

Decided I want to try and clean my n52 engine project today. Which means I have to figure out how to clean aluminum parts... tried with this old n52 tb with some industrial degreaser 1:5 and those are the results in the center slot. Any suggestions welcome, doesn't need to be perfect just clean enough to work on

Well I decided to use what I had at hand which was industrial degreaser diluted about 1:4 and dish soap. Came out pretty good considering what I used and how little I scrubbed. Hell of a lot better than before I'd say!

Fixed the first issue with my new exhaust set up. After the headers install the exhaust exhaust hangers didn't line up (I've had other questionable exhaust work done) so the exhaust hung down and rattles on the v brace. Torched the muffler hangers and bent it to fit correctly. Tomorrow I'll be going to exhaust shop to install a vibrant ultra quiet res
