all the paperwork and details are taken care of at a dealership near you (but I would advise finding an advisor that's experienced in ED's)

you pay for the car or start lease at least 2 weeks before you travel.

for cars that have an ED allocation (ie. does not come out of dealer's allocation), you will usually save about 7% on the cost of the car...but on cars that are as hot as the e92 335i were at the time John and I picked up, you could even save upwards of about $6k. It's all in the negotiations..

The cost of your vacation/trip is entirely up to you with BMW's program.
The only incentive you get is a 2 for 1 ticket for a companion when you fly Lufthansa...but beware that a lot of times you can find a cheaper flight itinerary through other airlines, since the Lufthansa's fare is based on a slightly more expensive Q fare.

Insurance for 2 weeks is included I believe while you're out in europe, the shipping fees, import duties, etc. are all taken care of...and your car is also insurd while it is on the freighter heading across the ocean...

You then pick up your car....have a blast driving through europe in it, then drop it off at any 1 of their 17 or 18 dropoff locations that are already pre-designated by BMW...and then you fly home

There's a lot more to it, that was quickly off the top of my head.

As well as your German/EU Temp. Driver's Permit...European export registration and Insurance around Europe is also included....IIRC....

There's a lot more to it, that was quickly off the top of my head.

You basically pay around $1000 over European Invoice. European Invoice is about 3000 under U.S. invoice. You also pay 10% or so off the options. A lot of people get wrapped up in the numbers. It's not about the price savings (not entirely), it's about the experience.

It's an excuse to go to Europe. The memories and experience are really priceless. Heck, I proposed there.

Correct...you have to find your own hotel....
I stayed at the Marriott in Munich last time...and found "Premium Pound Coupon" on ebay....saved 100 GBP (convert to Euro) when we check out....so around 200 USD saved on accomdation...
