+1 for e36 for track use. cheap to acquire, lots of upgrade paths. better rear suspension that any e30 (or the m coupe for that matter). i wish mine had a hard top so i could track it, though i do love it around town too

I thought that might have been Nick alright, but you had passed by before I realized it! I gave the car a good clean last weekend. It was pretty filthy before that though, hadn't washed it for over a month with all of the travel I had in Oct.

My lights are all factory. Almost don't need my headlights at night lol

Your E92 is looking good man, I think you should keep it

Yeah, aren't his new angel eyes crazy bright?!?!?!? The shocking thing is theyr'e factory! Haha we had met up at Imola one night when it was dark, and they illuminate a significant distance in front of the car!

Nick it's been a while since you've come around and shot the shit with us! Think you might make it to a dyno day November 27th? I'll sell you my downpipes for $225 and I"ll install them for FREE! haha.

Do any of you guys use MNPass? I use 35W for the most part to go to and from work, and now that the crosstown project is winding down I was considering picking up a transponder. My hope is that the HOV lane will make for some better progress once it opens in a couple weeks. Since they opened the final stretch of 35W last week it's been brutal. Both available lanes are always clogged with people going 5 to 10 under the speed limit. I'll keep an eye on the HOV lanes once they open up and see how they look, but was just curious to hear from any of you that currently use them on 394 or 35W.

I'd typically only use it when I knew traffic was stopped or on rainy/snowy days. 394 typically moves pretty well between 100 and downtown (unless you want to go 94E). 40 bucks lasted me all winter easy.

I didn't tape the transponder to the windshield; I just set it on the dash - there are yellow lights on the side of the road (on bridges and such) that blink when you go by that I think the cops use to tell if the one passenger cars are paying (at least on 394). It was nice because I just transferred it from the truck to the car depending on the weather.

Not sure how 35 is going to work but the setup looks nice. I dig the LED's in the road concept as you go further north (tells you when the lane is open for merging along with the overhead signs).

I think it's def. worth looking into.

Nick
Thanks for the feedback Nick, glad to know it works on 394. I'll see how things look after the lanes are opened up on 35W. My fear is that the HOV lanes will also be clogged, in which case MNPass wouldn't make sense.

Looking at Toyota 4Runners. I've always had a winter/summer vehicle combo and right now my winter vehicle is literally rusting apart and needs to be replaced. Figure a cheap 4Runner, pay it off quick, get another Bimmer. That's the plan anyway. I really don't want two car payments... As much as I want to get a used BMW of sone sort right away; I just can't count on my truck to go another 3 years and I refuse to do the summer/winter tire and wheel swap... I've always had 4WD so to me that the only way to go when the snow flies plus I need to be able to pull stuff as well (we have a small boat).

Nick

Makes sense. I hear you on not wanting to DD the bimmer during the winter. This is my first winter here in MN without a company car, so I'm both excited and not excited about using the 335 in winter! So you looking to pick up a truck this side of winter?

So I'm actually thinking that Downpipe offer to Nick might not be such a bad idea! For anyone in the Minneapolis area, if you buy my VK motorwerks downpipes, I will install them FO FREE!

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450823

These downpipes are ceramic coated AND wrapped, and have only been on the car for ~10 months!

I thought we said the 12th? I am trying to setup an appointment to check out the sweet 635csi in bloomington. Don't try and stop me Gary!

That said since tomorrow is supposed to be awesome, how about we catch up next to the calhoun area around about lunch time or so?

You're right, don't ask me why I thought it was tomorrow! I'd be up for getting together around the lakes tomorrow though.

Let me know if you go look at that 6er, I wouldn't mind tagging along

How was the mini-meet on Saturday? I brought in my father's ML320 in for service and a few other things. Got a C300 rental. Overall, smooth ride and drive. A little disappointed with the interior, just seems so plastic-y.

We never ended up meeting on Saturday, although Anvar and I did get our cars "winterized" yesterday, so we're all ready for the salty roads

I hear you on the Merc, I rented a C220 CDI in Europe and even though it drove OK, the interior was not what you'd expect from a premium German brand. I was surprised.

Guys it has been a good morning so far. I was happy to know that Directtv services my area and have purchased an internet and tv package. I am glad to be rid of the scum of the earth that is Comcast.

$90/month for high speed internet, HD DVR, 3 months free netflix, and $50 visa gift card.

Wow, sounds like a pretty good deal compared to what I pay for Comcast. How many HD channels do you get?

Hey guys,

Sorry no reply for awhile. I just got back from a wedding in Miami and I FINALLY got my car back today. I am definitely in for a meet and doing a dyno run. Just let me know when and where. Did I see the 12th? Or was that something else?

Bet you're glad to have the M back. Were they working on it this whole time, or was the delay just cos you were out of town?
The 12th was being thrown around for a fall meet - no plans yet though.
