Hi guys, thank forum this guide to pull the 1b file from car using an USB stick. As I read Gere this method should work using the USB port in the glove box but infortunatelly my car (bmw x3 (f25) my 2014) has just one USB port in the central console. Using the USB port in the USB port in the central console nothing happens and the 1b file is not generated. Did you know anche alternative to get the 1b file so I fan calcolate my FSC for map update? Thank you

Assuming you have 609 Nav Pro, you have NBT Head Unit, not CIC, so you have no 1B File, rather you have a DE File. Read it with E-Sys.

Yes, those that have access to BMW Server can pull it.

I have 2015 M4 F80 and I have downloaded the Map Update, but I can't get the hex key to appear. I have the North American 2018 Next maps.

Does anyone have FSC generator that could help me with a code?

You have NBT, not CIC, so you have no 1B to retrieve.

I'm new to this forum.
I have a BMW X1 2013. I put the USB key in the glove box car, I wait 30 and 60 seconds. there is no 1b.hex file. I have the model with CIC .
Can anybody help me?

Updated last night. Helpful hints for us NA map users:

After getting your unlock code - Move the pkgdb folder and config.nfm from the disk 1 folder to root of your fat32 usb stick.

Move the contents of disk 2-4’s pkgd folders to the pkgdb folder located in root.

Keep the drivers door open and press the start button. Navigation will start up and load.

Insert the usb stick in the glovebox’s usb slot, wait 1min, Start the upgrade, enter code. Walk away for 45 mins or read a book.

If you had the door closed it may shut down the car when you open the door.

As a recent CIC retrofitter, I'm happy to report that I was also successful in pulling the 1b file and generating the FSC code. Just wanted to give a huge thanks to portalseo (and Jagaer)

I have a flashdrive, but when i try to format it there is no fat32 option, i only get exfat will this work or do i need a different one. I also have another one that has the fat32 option but it does not pull the 1b file, does the speed make any difference ?

You will not see the fat32 option on larger drives.

There are utilities that will format some larger drives to fat32.

USB speed seems to be unimportant.

Remember that the script method does not work on all cars.

You could either use a cable or pay one of the code vendors to generate the FSC code.

No. EntryNav has no 1B File and even if it did, you cant generate a ROUTE FSC Code.

You can update map, you just can't DIY. You would need to buy ROUTE Map Update.

Can the update be performed with engine off (just in accessory mode)?

Don’t have an hour trip planned and would like to get this update started to see if it works with the code I was able to generate.

If so, with no trickle charge is it a risk that it’ll drain the battery and chime me to death since it says to leave door open so system doesn’t turn off ?
