Anyone check the 800 # this morning? Mine is now saying - "your vehicle is at the port awaiting shipping vessel." I wonder if that means it's through VPC and awaiting a car carrier.

It has changed for me too. Yesterday it did say in transit. I do hope that means its waiting to be shipped to the dealership. I would hate for it to mean it didn't pass inspections at the VPC and they are sending it back to Germany. |

LOL...
Doing a little searching, it sounds like this is fairly common although nobody seems to know exactly what it means. Is it awaiting the train to the VPC or is it awaiting the car carrier to the dealer. Hopefully the latter... |

Just called and got a live person on the 800 number and he told me that the last update that he has for my car was on 11/20 which after the boat left the port. According to what he told me... the 800 number doesn't track the car after it leaves the port. He said for state side detail I needed to contact my CA.
don't know how true that is, but that is what I was told! Last edited by BoostedE90; 12-12-2007 at 03:46 PM.. |

At this point (after arriving at the VPC), the oc website gave better updates than the 800 number.
Just picked up the car. No pictures yet. Getting a clear bra put on right now. The thing is fast. Too many cool gadgets inside to play with! Hope you all are hearing very soon about your babes... |

Not the most unique Bimmer on the road, but it works for me!!! Thanks all for the notes and support. It's made the last few weeks kind of fun (but probably not as much fun as the weeks to come...) |

Emailed my sales manager for a status and he just said the car has been "released" and they expect to see it on the lot in the next day or two! We're getting close!!!

Gentlemen,
It's finally here! Great dealership, by the way. VERY low key. No upselling at all. Car tracks like it's on rails. Curves are just too much fun. (Current rule of thumb for turns: Just double the suggested limit.) Also got the clear bra put on. I think it's going to be well worth it. Looking forward to seeing your pics, too! |

Looks great! Congrats man! Glad to hear you had a "no pressure" experience at the dealer. My CA/sales manager has been great thus far so I'm hoping for the same experience.
Hopefully I'll be driving mine on Saturday. CA is saying the truck should drop it off on Friday. If it hits early enough on Friday they're telling me they can have it prep'd for delivery on Saturday. |

Yeah OC says mine is at the VPC too... but we know how fast it updates.
What's your CA saying? edit: The 800 # must be on crack, it's saying I'm "awaiting a shipping vessel" again. I guess it isn't worth checking it anymore. |

I just heard from my CA that it is at the VPC and I have an ETA of 1/2/08.:sad0147:
I wonder if there are some repairs that are needed!? I just hope they are wrong and it comes before Christmas. |

That's a bit weird. It does sound like some repairs will be needed. You should find out what's going on.
I saw a B7 Alpina yesterday that had suffered a scratch on the roof at the VPC. So, the fellow who ordered it refused delivery. It's only $120,000 but now on sale for $104,000! Any takers? |
