Hi guys. Installing the Cobb tune tonight on my 335i x-drive. During the flash process, my navi is telling me I have transmission and 4wd malfunction. I assume thats just part of the process, but I feel better asking you guys. Thoughts?

Part of the process. I hope you didn't unplug it or shut the car off during install.

It will give the DTCs then it clears them & finishes. Then you turn the car off completely & hit ok on the AP. Then start the car up & everything should be good!

Thx. Did not unplug. Just let it finish.

One thing I am noticing is that the car is surging under heavy acceleration. Does not happen with the stock tune. Almost as if the gas supply is being cut off.

Just got my car back after a wastegate failure... Not related to Cobb at all. I forgot how badass this car was with this tune installed!

Running the latest 93 octane map. Running 93 gas unless I got a bad batch.

It's going to depend on the octane of gas that you're running but those numbers are pretty accurate! Here's a quick dyno chart from COBB for you to check out!

A couple of weeks ago we had a real bad storm. Flooding everywhere and before I knew it my car was sucking in water. Needless to say I blew the engine, turbo’s….

Warranty doesn’t cover it but my insurance will.

A new engine, turbos, some sensors and labor the cost to the insurance co is 22k.

BTW- I had a 2008 335I fully loaded, with JB3 and BMS DCI. I loved the power increase. Looking forward to se what the COBB has to offer.

Not sure if it's been shared on the forums yet, but Rob@Cobb told me to look forward to a stage 1 + FMIC map in the near future! I can only guess that the mapping would take advantage of the better flow and reduced IAT's in the upper rpm's by way of more midrange boost and timing up top?

Really...hmmmm.

Damn, this was just the extra nudge to get me off the fence as to what my next mod was going to be.

Yes I was told via PM when I asked if there were any beta maps or more aggressive maps availible for testing. Here is exactly what Rob offered up:

Is the FMIC your only current mod other than the AP?

Cheers,
Rob
Hope he doesn't mind me sharing the PM, but I know new info is hard to come by with them.

That would be a fantastic addition. i would like to see something a little better above 6,000.
I'm digging v203 std with the ETS intercooler.

What are the implications with DCT? I thought I had read a while back that Vishnu was testing PROcede with a 335is with DCT and they messed up the trans somehow. Is DCT capable of handling a tune that's putting out some serious power?

I don't know if its the heat or the new 203 maps are just not as aggressive as 202, shifting is much smoother though, but I have to switch over to DS to really feel the power in the lower gears.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the heat. I tested several maps last night and noticed the same feeling on the butt dyno. (Ambient temp was 98F)

This will be awesome! I'm adding an ETS IC to go with my DP-back exhaust and will be looking to take advantage of it as much as possible. Do it COBB!

hhmmm, my car already had the ETS FMIC on it when i flashed the Cobb.

i don't know how he would squeeze out more HP or have the car run better than it is now.

would be awesome to see what he could do though......
