This discussion made me run a 7:05 pace today. Speaking of which...you know why I work out as much as I do? Because I know the gym and or the road is someplace my wife will NEVER be.....

Until lately. Since the blowup when I told her I have 30 reasons to look at other women and they all reside around her waist she has been periodically walking on the treadmill on days when I don't run. The good news is we both have headphones on so I don't have to talk to her.

Did I mention I'll be in the car for 17 hours each way with her this week...god I want to drive my car into a pole today.

WTF my email is going full retard...I have my work forwarded to my gmail and for some reason today gmail started sending a delivered receipt back to my work email...which gets forwarded to gmail, which sends a receipt back to my work...WTF how do I stop it

Dude I'm sorry this is happening between you and your wife. This clearly has to do with things other than just the car, and if not, then these should not be stemming from a MATERIAL possession.

When I was a teenager, I wanted a car so badly for my 16th birthday. But, growing up here in the city, it was not ideal. My parents didn't want to pay for the insurance and the car itself (they knew it had to be nice because I'd rather drive their cars than a Corolla). It made our home very, very uncomfortable, because they didn't know what else to tell me. I know it sounds really disrespectful of me, but my first word was "car," and I had nearly every issue of C&D, R&T, and Automobile a man could have; it was really important to me to finally have my own car, for convenience and enthusiasm.

We fought over it for MONTHS; it really sucked. I feel horrible about it. It's not worth it at all. And I know your situation involves your OWN money and not your wife's money, but just the bickering that ensued because of this one, little big-thing-that-I-wanted-sosososo-badly; it was insufferable. It was just THAT important to me.

You and your wife need to work on finding other ways to express your discontent with one another. It's really just hot air--Chicago doesn't need any more wind . Meet her halfway, as I'm sure you already do. But if she's as important to you now as she was when you married her, then you'll want to go 57%. This is a car. Your marriage will last where your warranty won't; they are not mutually exclusive.
