had a thought today... $15k could buy me a very nice '88 Porsche 944 Turbo some suspension, good rubber and a turbo upgrade. Could be a lot of fun.

do not buy a jb3/4. It pushed the car really hard until it knocks and the ecu, being very good at preventing knock, backs the power off to a "safe" level. But its keeps pushing the car to knock over and over. Yes, folks have been driving these cars for tens of thousands of miles on these, but thats just a testament to how good the engine is at protecting knock.

The general consensus is that the safest way to add reliable power is through an ECU flash rather than a piggyback like the JB/Procede/etc. Flashes are more proactive tunes in that they have much more control over ECU parameters, and work in conjunction with your safety systems (amongst others) while piggybacks simply "trick" your ECU into developing more boost and rely on the rest adapting to it.
