Concerning cables, it's a good idea to invest a few dollars and buy a proper one. Not only because of xHP, but every other App like MHD or the whole BMW tools will profit too. Having hassle just because of shitty soldering or fake FTDI chips in cheap cables doesn't really pay off.
For US I got suggested the One-Stop-Cable a lot: http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16 Personally I use this one and it didn't have one single failure on 1.5 years of heavy use: https://www.amazon.de/1A-DIAG-Interf.../dp/B0180YTP3A I tested other cables, but none was as relieable as the one from 1A-Diag. So that's a good suggestion for European users. The USB OTG adapters seem pretty insensitive...everyone worked for me until now. From cheap to expensive, didn't make a difference. |

So how it will work step by step
1. Downloading app 2. Connecting to the cars obd via any K dcan cable using otg 3. Now what another app MHD or something or same app will be able to do everything? |

I don't know if this has been accomplished already, but it would be nice to be able to force any gear in "M" mode, regardless of speed/load/whatever.
I don't want the car to automatically downshift when coming to a stop. There's no mechanical reason why the transmission can't be in 6th gear at 0mph. This might sound like a stupid request at first, but the problem is that sometimes when slowing down, I see that the RPMs are low, so I click the downshift paddle. However, it's possible that the TCU has already decided to initiate a downshift at the same exact time. The result is that it "queues" up my downshift command and ends up downshifting two gears (usually sending me into 1st gear at like 15 mph which is annoying). The other side of the issue (automatic up-shifting) is similar. Sometimes when launching in 1st gear, the car will spin to redline and automatically shift into 2nd gear, but it’s possible that right after the TCU initiates the shift, I initiate the shift into 2nd manually (because everything happens so fast), so it ends up going straight from 1st to 3rd gear. It would be nice to be able to bounce off of limiter for a bit while spinning in 1st. Of course, all of this only applies to “M” mode. These features don’t need to be enabled in the OTS maps, but I’m wondering if you think it’s possible at all in general (I think it is). |

Not sure that would be a standard tune, as being able to downshift into any gear at any speed does not please the liability Gods. ![]() |

Concerning the downshifts: Actually, there are a lot of reasons why the TCU limits rpms on coasting. However, the TCU has a logic part that can be configured to either queue up the shift, or discard a shift request, when another shift is being active. Haven't played with that yet, but might integrate it in later revisions of OTS maps. |

1. E9x Series with 3.0D engines 2. E9x/E8x series with N54/N55 Next one's judging one market demand I sense at the moment: 3. Very likely the E6x-series with 3.0D and N54 |

Looks very promising BUT!!!! We need less revcounter damping. Shifts are very fast but with a laggy revcounter its not very good from a selling point of view.
If you mod your cluster by nettodata coding you will probably achieve a whole lot of more "damn that trans is fast" ![]() Last edited by ChrizLoud; 01-13-2017 at 04:31 PM.. |

Luckily it is easy to achieve by custom coding (See my other thread) - but IMHO it is out of scope of this tool. |

The RPM gauge on my N55 car with the Alpina B3 flash actually seems to move "faster" than the transmission actually shifts. It also seems to undershoot very temporarily during upshifts. I personally wouldn't mind if it reflected the actual engine RPMs. |

Really looking forward to this! Any updates?
I hope it fixes the slow TC lockup and gives faster shifts. It would be amazing if the damping effect on the revcounter could be reduced - the standard delay in the way it moves after the gearchange, is.....shit. Also, will this work alongside any existing remap, without issues? Last edited by IceMan007; 01-20-2017 at 09:00 AM.. |
