I only know it exists on my 2010 E93 (CIC). I imagine it may not be available with CCC based systems.

This desirable feature is not implemented on the E90. What some of us 328i drivers do is periodically check the oil level thru the OBC. When a reading is available (about 5~10 minutes after starting off, depending on ambient temp), the motor is sufficiently warm to have some fun. Otherwise, I keep the revs below about 3,000.

you can start the car without key fob.

okay.. everyone knows that already

the next thing is, (without key fob, engine on) you still can't turn off the engine on N (neutral) for parallel parking. the start/stop button is not working, even you press and hold >5 sec. anyone know how to park on N?

You get rid off the slash box and replace it with a 6-speed

Why would you park in neutral? Even in a manual, you should leave the car in gear while parked.

when you parked your car in parallel in a very crowd parking lot, you should not leave the car in handbrake or in gear. your car should be able to be moved so that the other car can get in/out of the parking area.

I see you're from Indonesia. Maybe that's just a thing there? It's definitely not anywhere I've ever been. It's also completely inapplicable if there's even the slightest grade where you've parked, and is generally considered unsafe even if there's not.

Do you also leave the car unlocked with the keys in the ignition?

2. Pre-September 2006 e90's don't have thumb-rests on the sport package steering wheel.

3. Also Pre-September 2006 e90's don't have the option to choose whether to have the inner low beams as they're DRL or have your Angel Eyes as DRLs, along with a number of other miscellaneous options to chose from in your instrument cluster (not sure about iDrive).
As long as my keys in my pocket or hand, I can open, lock, unlock, open, shut windows, open trunk. And start and drive my car. Everyone keeps saying you gotta put the key in first.

My defrost wasn't working so I took it into the dealership. The mechanic said the defrost won't work if the battery isn't fully charged - apparently the car shuts down "nonessential" features when it has a low battery. Has anyone else come across this?

A low battery can absolutely cause that kind of problem but I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to it... headlights, TPMS or DRLs usually go first when the battery is dying.

This sounds like a typical software developer's error. However, I can't reproduce this in 2011 car. Apparently, they fixed it by 2011 or earlier.

I'm guessing it also doesn't change when you drive across time zones or ship it across the Atlantic, does it? Would be an interesting bit of added integration if it acted more like a smartphone (well, at least most smartphones).

My battery is fine - it's just not at 100% as I would suspect no battery is after it's been sitting over night or even a few days. Once the engine starts, the alternator does it's job and things are great. Problem is, I need my defroster when I first start the car because that's when there's dew or ice on the back window - not after I've been driving it for 20 minutes. Another irritating factoid (according to Lithia) is that you can't engage the 'Max AC' button when it's "cool enough" outside. The button won't even light up. I feel like the car owns me - not the other way around! Help!

Thi is true. For the last 2yrs my battery gave me warnings such as radio turning off 2 min after turning shut off engine also bluetooth conection would not stay on engine off. Defroster did not work and blower AC fan switching speeds. I recently replaced batter and all is back on like new
