Not too bad. My mileage has took a shit, ever since my fuel pressure reg. started cracking(and even after replacement), my MPG has been horrible and I don't know why lol

Aargh I dropped the car off for an alignment and my Indy says one of my track arms is seized and preventing toe adjustments. Under the circumstances probably just going to have to bite the bullet and pay them the $500 to take care of it.

Gave her a good ol' bath and coating of spray wax

Everyone at my job always complementing my car. Especially when it's clean.

For a 13 year old car, thing looks brand new. Looks better than a lot of trade-ins I take

My replacement wheel came in today along with the valve stems

Now to put the winters on and to start the restoration process of the other three. Going to get everything as smooth as possible and have them painted in Space Grey

I was getting VANOS codes, so I took the VANOS solenoids I had pulled from my original engine, and had cleaned up, and installed them in the replacement engine. The ones I pulled from the replacement engine were rather dirty.

Went for a good, long, test drive. Seemed to pull harder down low, and no codes, so I'm a happy Clam.

I'll clean the other solenoids, and keep them as spares.

Cheers!

That’s odd, my mpg when my fpr cracked was around 14.5. It jumped up after I replaced it.
Right now I have some o2 sensor codes, sensors after cats. I thought that would affect gas mileage but doesn’t seem to make a difference.
I think on an e85 mix, I was doing 12.5 mpg!

But I drove it more aggressively this time. Right away it started averaging 13.5.
Burbles, 80% throttle, when I could.
I will probably stick to normal cruising speeds for now.

Missed out on the $170 eBay deal on Index 12 injectors…
Bought another Index 12 from the dealer - $345 including taxes and the decoupler.
Interestingly, it had been sitting on the shelf since 2019! Apparently Carvana never picked it up from the dealer. Last one in stock.

FYI, BMW is now listing the injector at $441! Mercifully BMW of South Atlanta hasn’t updated their parts prices yet...

Did an oem exhaust mod on the E60 M5 today (opened 2 of the 4 cans and closed up the perforated pipes then welded everything back). Very nice change in sound, but not obnoxious at all.

That's more like unaffordium.. $3k 'normal' maintenance for a 10+ yo vehicle It should be inexcusably unacceptable to charge that if this world wasn't full of fraud right now.

Rather than go on a mythic quest to find reasonably priced 12s, I would suggest buying used whatever-versions on eBay and treating them as a consumable, like oil, fan belts, battery, etc., especially if you are not heavily tuning your E9X. There are very inexpensive sub-12 version injectors all over the place, and frankly, its not all that hard to replace, recode them. You can get a set of 3 used 9s for like $100. Seems a lot more cost efficient than bending over and taking it up the ass by paying +$400 for a single index 12 - let alone six of those MFers. You buy a used sub-12 injector and it craps out after two years - oh well.

The worst part is that BMW used to replace these injectors in an extended warranty/service bulletin. Then they put a limit on it by year/mileage. Now they know almost everyone is out of warranty and they increase the price, knowingly that they are going to go bad…:

Smart business for making money, bad business for losing customers.

Installed my wheel stud conversion kit, race lug nuts, and turner spacers

Edit: eventually I'll be getting new lengths.. theyre a little short for my liking with spacers. If the wheels were the correct offset I think they would be perfect

What brand and size studs did you go with? I just got Motorsports Hardware 78mm studs.

Thats the exact ones I went with actually. I think I might try 83mm in the front and 90mm in the rear later on. I like the way studs sit flush with the end of the nut. When I have time I'll measure the correct distance

Got the replacement rear main seal in for the one I f'd up the other day, this time I think I got it in straight without destroying it and all sealed up with the special permatex primer and sealer. Shift kit from Turner installed, new OEM LuK DMF flywheel and clutch and tranny back in place and torqued down. That's about as big a job as I ever want to do with the car on a quickjack. I'll finish putting it back together tomorrow, time for a beer

Quite a task on Quickjacks, well done! I will be tackling a rod bearing swap on my S85 V10 on my Quickjacks very soon. That will be a hoot I am sure.
