I use BP Ultimate - almost always. This was on BP Ultimate and was admittedly a very 'relaxed' run, but at reasonable motorway speeds. I also have nearly new Michelin runflats, and since they are quieter and give a better ride than the awful Bridgestones, I suspect that they may make a minor contribution, but I agree its a fantastic figure for a powerful car - even driven gently.

Totally agree. Those are the sort of speeds I tend to do on the m-way but I've not seen anywhere near 50mpg...I might have to give my car a taste of V-Power sometime...

Just had the call back on mine - Seals gone so they are getting the pieces in to replace - but have said they won't replace the pipe - does that sound right?

Yes, my dealer also replaced only the seals.

Car is running really sweetly.

Did they clean all the oil off? I'm keen for them to tidy up as the leak is a warranty issue after all.

Hrm, my boost hose is looking oilier now than in the pics I posted earlier in this thread but only on the underside and around the metal spiral that runs around the hose. The undertray is also looking rather oily and that was spotless but a couple of months ago.

Also noticed that my car seems to be drinking a bit of oil recently...might have to get it in to have it checked for this issue or least find out if there's an outstand PUMA against it.

My 335d is in dealers today for another warranty issue and asked them to check this pipe and sure enough it needs replaced. car is 3 years 6 months old but covered by AUC warranty until next month. Dealer says AUC warranty does not cover pipes and has contacted BMW to ask for goodwill payment, haven't heard back on this yet.

Anyone else experience of AUC not paying for this item, thing is I was not told of any short comings on the warranty and not offered any upgrade to a fully comprehensive warranty, don't even know i have any paperwork on the warranty.

from what i understand the AUC warranty only comes with AUC cars, and actually provides more cover than the BMW comprehensive warranty you can take out afterwards, so its not an 'upgrade'. The AUC is the best warranty you can have in place other than the original manufacturers warranty. you shouldnt need any paperwork, bmw will have your cars details on their system.

sorry, cant help you with your other question on whether AUC covers this part. did you read the whole thread? i'm sure others must have posted on this before from memory

Just meant that I don't have any paperwork to read through to see if this item is excluded. My car was an approved used car so has the AUC warranty until next month. Will hear more later I'm sure.

Car back today, fully covered by BMW , not sure if the AUC warranty paid or whether its a BMW goodwill payment but either way it cost me nothing. Given my car was in dealer for a leak in the windscreen washer and I just thought to get them to check the turbo pipe after reading this thread I am now very glad I thought to get it checked.

Changing hose ????

I have just purchased this hose and the seal and plan to change it at the weekend but I was wondering if anyone has actually done thie job. I am looking for any info as to how I should go about it to prevent any damage to the hose considering the price of it, thanks in advance

Got the seals done on mine this week. £100 wasnt too bad and the car feels faster and the fuel economy is up. Got 400 miles to a tank of normal driving for the first time ever

Changed mine at the weekend, was not a difficult job but I used a ramp and I would not try it without one. The hose where it enters the intercooler is very tight and thankfully I had the car on the ramp so I could really push it into place. A good coating ov vaseline or grease is neede to aid the entry of the seals and prevents them being nipped.

Finally got my car done today, I was out of warranty and i finally got the time to take it in.

There was no performance difference but there is a huge difference in fule economy.

I use to get about 31.6MPG before and now i just drove home (duel carrigeway and normal busy roads in london) and i got a staggering 42MPG!!!

On the duel carrigeway i was showing 52MPG and i have never seen the clock showing above 47MPG and went downhill after i was stuck in tariff but still 42 is impressive.

Now i wish i had got this done sooner and not waited 6 months.

I had mine done from sytner which anneka sorted out and i was charged £213 fitted including VAT (boost pipe and seals), and they cleaned the car inside out!

Got mine booked in for next Tuesday.

Hope they've got the seals i stock, I really don't want to have to take it back for another day.

Nice!
