313 finally
Upgraded from my stock 17" with runflats to new 313 18" rims with Michelin non-runflats. The difference is night and day in terms of ride quality.
18mm spacers on the back and 10mm on the front. Didn't want to go more aggressive than that. Nice minimal upgrade. These rims are meant for the 1 series, but I went square setup with 4 rears. Didn't want to go 19" because we don't have Autobahn quality streets. https://photos.app.goo.gl/JaXd43o6wCsfn2LW6 Last edited by codeterrorist; 07-19-2022 at 04:11 PM.. |

I bought a second hand genuine performance gearknob and Alcantra gaitor it was very dirty and stained the gaitor so after some Googling I found a Alcantra cleaner I ordered from Amazon and a soft upholstery brush and cleaned it took few hours between drying over two days but looks like new plus did gearknob to. I'm chuffed

Boot/Tailgate badge
One thing that was letting car down was the boot badge but long story short can only get genuine badge managed to get one that fits from Facebook seller. BUT both pins snapped off in boot after a brown trouser moment I got a small screw to screw into the plastic and tried to pull it out(right hand one )
It came out in bits kept doing bits at a time eventually the little bit remaining fell into boot . Did the left one it came out with one pull in one piece result especially as both grommets were not damage soooo much better . But not perfect fit but will do until I get a genuine one at a later date .

Picked up my 2011 335i today. I had new R1 rotors, pads, sensors and brake flush service done. Also had the calipers sandblasted and painted. New M359 wheels and tires are coming in tomorrow. Leather re-dye scheduled for tomorrow and paint correction on Thursday. Getting close to having this project finished!
On a side note. I will be listing my BMW 189 wheels with near new tires for sale. If anyone is interested, let me know. They are 18" staggered with 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.

Hey guys pardon my ignorance but I'm from Europe and seeing this post has reminded me that every car has a dial to aim the headlamps up or down. On the US market has anyone or does anyone know that if we retrofit the switch with the dial, would we be able to aim the headlamps up or down as well? I have the oem xenon headlights from factory, fiy.

Sounds like you may need to check your headlight alignment itself. Also highly recommend coding in AHL2 to make full use of the adaptive xenons. |

AHL2? can you give me more info? Also the headlights are fine, I'm just wondering if I can have full use of it since I can get a Euro switch for $30 that also has the dial. It's one of those things that if I could add it, it'd be pretty cool you know?

That dial doesnt move the headlights up and down...it lets you adjust the brightness of the dash lights. |

No that is not to adjust the dash brightness. It is to control the height of your low beam. I believe it is mandatory on every car in Europe. I remember every time I go back the cars have them. All the way back to E30's

Just met a guy with an E61 535xi. I'll be honest, I didn't even know they existed! Why couldn't they give us an E91 335xi.

That's no problem just giving back to the community : So after looking into it, the headlight low beam adjuster is for vehicles with halogen lights. I guess I wasn't using the proper terms when I did some research before however now it all comes together. Since the halogen headlamps did not adjust themselves like the xenons do they added the manual leveling adjustment knob. I guess there is no real gain for us here in the US since from what I read if you have US market halogens it could be a bit of a pain in the behind to do since there is wiring and coding to do to make it work.
As for AHL2 coding. I'm a bit afraid to use it. My car is an 08 and lets face it, the headlamp actuators are prone to failure at any moment. We all dread the little headlamp with the curved two headed arrow popping up on the dash. I know this because it happened on my 1 series lmao. Since the 1 series is more of the get in and go fast car I actually decoded the active headlamps and the headlamps work without moving and or causing a light. Auto headlamps still works pretty well so I'm happy. I love the idea of the AHL2 but am afraid of the additional wear it may cause. |
