Had to replace the small breather hose going to the reservoir and the top hose from the radiator to the engine. The small breather hose had a pinhole leak causing it to spray everywhere in the engine compartment. When I went to install the new hose, the nipple on the big hose broke off and crumbled to pieces.

I guess after 12 years and 226,000 miles, I got my money's worth.

Been there, done that. I had the added joy of breaking the radiator when pulling off the top hose.
Good excuse to update the whole cooling system, but that wasn't something I was planning for at the time!

I think I got lucky. It actually came right off. The other end on the oil filter housing was a lot harder.

Good point. I priced out doing the rest but I'm going to take my chances until either the water pump finally goes or another leak occurs.

That's the one piece I didn't do. I have a spare WP sitting in the garage ready to go, but want to get every last bit of life out of this one!!!

Took it on the first long trip under my ownership. 300 miles. Got around 24 mpg at mostly highway speeds, wasn't sure what to expect. Sport seats did get a little uncomfortable towards the end, but otherwise no complaints.

24 seems a bit low. I have an '07 335 and get 30ish at a steady 70-75. Has your vehicle ever had a walnut blast? I did mine at 100k and it made a world of difference in power and MPG.

All things being equal, driving technique makes all the difference.

Great job.

I got to replace my rear right brake wear sensor. Some how it came loose and got destroyed. Thankfully I had a part on hand. I just cleared all the codes yesterday by replacing my h8 light.

Guess my car wanted more attention.

Thanks it turned out the AC compressor seized which caused the belt to come off.

New AC condenser, tensioner, and belt on and I'm finally back on the road

You may find this tidbit of info useful (and slightly maddening):
When the E31 8-series was introduced in MY1990, the AC compressor had a lock/seize sensor to prevent exactly that you experienced.

Apparently it was too expensive to manufacture/had electrical glitches (it was the early 90s, after all), and after MY1992 that style compressor was discontinued.

Shame they didn’t reintroduce it for the E90…

The EXACT same thing happened to me a few months ago. I had pretty good warning based on the sound, but put it off just a smidge too long. Was about 1/4 mile away from the shop I was driving to when it let loose.

I haven't done anything to my 330 in a few months, but I noticed a weird humming sound coming from the rear underneath the car when I started my car in the garage with the windows down. At first I thought it was the exhaust, but then I realized it was the fuel pump. My tank was nearly empty. After filling up the humming is gone, but I don't remember ever hearing this sound with a low tank before. Is the fuel pump starting to fail?
