I guess we have been spoilt with our cars with respect to tunes because of low priced remote tunes. However, for people that have had JDM cars would know a $1K+ tune has always been part of the list of modifying cars. I think its really important to get the tune right as its the heart of our cars. Just my personal view, this is why I searched around for local dyno tuning for our cars. Its great we have nizpro as another option now
You can get an Internet tune for $250. A bit more if you want to rent a dyno and have them dyno tune it live. It's all the same tables they are modifying. Usually only a bit more for different fuel/turbos. That gets my vote.

This is true. I did some work with Trebila but he wouldn't dyno tune just log and tweak.

That is true mate, but I guess my preference is having a local tuner who can physically hear the car whilst tuning and can diagnose any issues immediately. I have tried OTS maps, custom tune overseas maps with 12 revisions over the course of a month and my vote goes to a custom dyno tune that is done locally.

My experience was also same as sock in the sense that the overseas tuner didn't want to dyno tune, just remote tune doing WOT logs. By the way agree they are all modifying the same tables.

Oh and by the way we are located half way round the world, down under in Australia where altitude, climate etc is different. This probably also explains why the US and Europe tuners don't want to dyno tune our cars remotely.

I found a similar thing however....

Change to linear throttle made mine feel fast again.
Also to note, V7 changes things to boost by load rather than traditionally boost by gear. This means you make more boost when it's warmer weather and less when cold.

why are you using off the shelf maps with your shiny new pure stage 2's?

would bet you'd get a nice power bump from a custom tune. my understanding is mhd maps are tailored to stock turbos.

Planning to do a custom tune just as soon as I install PI, or decide not to go ahead
