Question Colour behind kidney grille? What is it??

What is the red thing behind the kidney grilles in the below pic?
I've got an E93 325i and I wouldn't mind doing that to my car lol.

Air scoops- largely useless, except for funneling extra dust and dirt into your intercooler, radiator, and intake

Seriously though, the jury is out on the performance advantages. I would love to believe they work, but the majority of the forum members say nay.

Yea just did some research on them - that sounds a bit worrying lol.

I wouldn't get them coz of the so-called performance benefits, but I reckon they look pretty cool, especially on a blacked out car!

Might order a set - only about $50 so not too big of a deal.

so while the jury is out (and always will be) on the performance aspects of these scoops - one thing they will do for sure - is make an area behind your grill red (unless you order them in black)- so if thats what you are after...go for it

As mentioned. Air scoops; probably Cyba. Cheap and purely aesthetic. Almost nothing gained.

Bumper is getting touched up for the show this weekend.
Headlights are getting redone and will be shipping back to me tomorrow.
M3 mirrors coming soon. The owner wants to trade them for my mirrors if I paint them BSM.

Damn that's a beautiful looking machine!

My car's got the blacked out theme going on;
- black grille
- black breaks
- black wheels

Should I get the red scoop?

That awesome. I wish I could refresh the look of mine as often as you do. Yours is easily in the top 5 on the forum. BTW you've got one wide driveway.

There is actual gains, I saw a dyno from another bimmer forum.

Of course to see the gains in real life driving you probably have to be doing at least 80mph.
