Fuel injector cleaner help.

Car is a 2007 335i Sedan.
Build sept 06, if this matters.

I am starting to have a slight ruff idle without codes.
It is clearly missing every 10-15 sec, at start up till it heats up to normal temp.

Walnut blast done less than 20k ago.

Heard and read about techron fuel system cleaner.
Bought the 6 pack from Costco.
Havn't used it yet, as car gas is full.
Bottle says to ad to 12 gal.

My question is, did I buy the wrong stuff? (Edit Pictures added for what I bought)
What is the techron fuel system cleaner?
And what is techron concentrate fuel system cleaner.

Heard and read that this may fix my ever so slight issue.
But which one?

Thanks in advance.

I take it you got the one that treats up to 12 gallons. We got like a 16 gallon (might be a bit more) fuel tank, so go for the 20 gallon bottle. All you do is dump the bottle in before you fill up.

Chevron techron isn't ready available in my city (Toronto) so I opted for "Gumout Fuel Injector Cleaner"
I can confirm that it REALLY helped with the rough idles. I was actually getting vibrations.. Also Walnut blast has been done 7,XXX ago.

Once you dump the cleaner in I suggest driving the car in DS mode or just let it hit the higher revs to really clean those injectors.

I just ran a bottle of the Techron stuff through my car, and it seems to have smoothed the idle out A LITTLE bit. My assumption is you have to continuously run this stuff a few fill ups for the maximum effect. Or, my valves are carbon caked and need cleaning which no additive will help with.

Aren't you supposed to wait till the tank is near empty, put in the techron, then fill up

Chevron techron... Good stuff.
If you have rough idle, try a 20g bottle before every other fill up for about 2-3 cycles and see if it helps.
If not you may need some engine work done. But continue techron treatment like every 2k-6k miles to keep things working well.

Read about the stuff, some experiments were done with some fantastic results.
If you can't buy local check Amazon. $6 bucks and change.

Highly recommend.

So I bought from Costco USA. $19 for 6 of them.

Toronto guy, call your local Costco, they have it here in Costco in BC. I was just state side on Canada day do just bought it there.

Also, what exactly is the point of putting this stuff in before fill up or after, it will still mix right?

Once a DI injector has an issue it's done. Also, many times it's the electronics (the piezo section) that is bad and has nothing to do with the injector being clean or dirty.

My thought too, either wearing out or starting to leak. Can you isolate what cylinder? If so, swap the injectors & see if the problem migrates?

Did you get Chevron Technron concentrate or Chevron Pro-Gard with Technron? I think Costco sells the latter and they're not the same. The cheaper Pro-Gard product is to help keep the fuel system clean, not actually clean deposits. It has a much lower concentration of Techron and is therefore much cheaper in price.

I seem to remember reading somewhere, that you have to do some coding if you swap your injectors. Not sure, I've not researched it...

you have to code the injector flow calibration to the new cylinder using INPA

If the OP considers the injector swap & program route, here is a link to some helpful information http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15140

By the way, guess what brand the BMW dealership is using.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

Make certain you do not confuse Chevron Pro-Gard with Chevron Techron. The Techron is the good stuff.
