E92 DRL Cree LED Bulb Upgrade - Advice Needed!!
Hey guys ,
I am looking to upgrade my DRL bulbs to something brighter. I visited my local auto electrician who is a BMW specialist and deals with headlight upgrades, alarms, radios etc. Anyway, he recommended I get 'Cree LED bulbs' fitted, he said these bulbs will be nearly as bright as the LCI DRL's and will cost £80 to fit. He also said I can see if I like the lights when fitted and if not then I can change back to my old ones and that the LED bulbs come error free and with a 1 year guarantee. Has anyone fitted these 'Cree LED bulbs' to their DRL's and if so what are they like?? Pics would be appreciated if possible!! Cheers chaps!! |

I assume you are referring to your angel eye rings? Which vehicle/year do you have? Few different versions.
Kit I used in my E70 had a lifetime warranty and for the H8 style had different options for wattage. |

From my own personal experience, I would not go with the cheap-o bulbs like that. I don't know what product he's using, but it probably will disappoint you.
Again, from my own personal experience, you cannot go wrong with the LUX H8 V4's. If those are a bit too pricey, I've purchased quite a few products from HighPerformanceBulbs.com (through TopGearSolutions here on the board), they have a new "80W" unit out, see here. I have not yet had a chance to play with E92-Lighting's newest offerings, but there are a lot of people who are very happy with them. |

I have a 2008 320. I currently have a bulb fitted (which came when I bought the car) which is like a blue/white colour which lights the small angel eyes up well, but not the big ones

Also just so you are aware 'Cree LED bulbs' dont rever to any 1 product in particular. Cree is a manufacture of the LED's but the whole product needs to be designed and manufactured, as well as the electronics that drive the LED's. Most of these no-name products are made in China and could come with little to no warranty or support. As well these are designed to function, but not well. |
