Who Wants To Read My Codes? Please
Hey gents
Shortly after I installed my JB4 this afternoon everything was nice and smooth the car responded well and the car was alive again. About 10 mins ago I tried to do a little pull but once I floored it the car did not want to respond and it started to vibrate even when giving it gas it just didn't move. I pulled over and the car was making these weird noises like an old car would from the muffler pop the hood and there was a bad smell too. What can it be? Thanks for your input. |

Crazy this is happening my guess is plugs or hpfp, same issue with my car couple weeks ago and it ended up being the plugs so I changed that ... Now 4 days ago I stepped on it and the car just started vibrating like theses no tomorrow.. After pulling the codes I think it's the hpfp so car is going in tomorrow to BMW , hopefully that's the issue and I don't have to spend out of pocket .

This is my 2nd time it has happen. And it always when I install JB4. Never when I don't have it installed. My guess it can be the plugs last time I change them was around 45kish? Im at 68k now. I believe my HPFP was replaced can it be that it needs to be replaced again? Hopefully someone can read the codes and than will know for sure what it can be. Sucks regardless. GL to you and hope its covered. |

I had the same thing at happen when i was hitting around 14 psi too. Read the code and it was cylinder 2 misfire. switched the coil with 3 and it still happened on cylinder 2. ended up replacing all the plugs and its been running like a dream.

I took the JB4 out but it's still doing it. Just giving it a little bit of gas same thing. Should I switch the coils for the sake of it?

I dont think so unless you have the ability to read the code. When you can do that you can figure out which cylinder is misfiring (if its that). Until then its a moot point.

If you can come to the woodbridge mall area i can help u diag ur car with INPA/BMWLogger and a visual inspection... plus we can hook up the JB4 and USB to glove box if everything checks out. Let me know if your willing to trek out to 07095 zip. I'm not sure how long i will be in Central NJ before going to LI.

You need to get that USB cable before you reinstall the JB4 again. I can scan the car for you with a snap on scanner for a small fee if you would like . Where about in long island are you?
