Questions about my newly purhased 335i with PROcede
Hi everyone!
I picked up my "new" BMW 335i 2007 this weekend who has a Stage 3 kit installed. The kit contains the PROcede rev2 V4, AMS IC, AR Downpipes (catless), 3" catbatck, Vishnu induction filters etc. My questions is regarding the check engine light. When I was driving home from the seller (a 700km trip) the CEL just started to luminate every 150 km. It seems that everything is working fine though. When I'm resetting the light (with the PROcede), it comes on again after another 100-150 km... I called the seller about this and he claimed it is because of the downpipes who's missing the catalysators. What do you guys think about that? My other question is also about the CEL. Today when I did a WOT pull going up to 7000 rpm from the 2nd gear the CEL came on, but in this case it was a "half engine" and the car started to missfiring alot. I turned of the car at once of course, and the light was gone when starting it again. Did another pull and it was all the same again with the CEL and missfiring... I know that the spark plugs have never been changed on the car before, if that can have anything to do with something. I heard that this missfiring issue can happen when the "DTC" is not enabled (only the standard traction). The seller of the car also mentioned this. What do you think about this? Thanks in advance! Best regards, // Mattias |

Really? Spark plugs NEVER been changed on a 2007? How many miles does it have? Either way, change them asap, they are probably long overdue. It will probably fix the half engine misfire.
The CEL could be due to catless downpipes, but pull codes to make sure. |

Pull the codes......
It sounds like the car wasn't very well maintained. Change the plugs, get a walnut shell blasting for the intake valves, replace the vacuum hoses, etc I think the procede has an auto clear function that you can turn on to keep the catless code from showing up. |

About the CEL during WOT i had that same issue and it was consistent only on long drives.(+20mins) Eventually after a few maintance items changed, Oil change and spark plugs, one of my injectors failed. I changed the entire bank, and that issue has gone away

Thanks for the replys!
The car had covered 66 000km, I think that is around 40 000 in miles. The car have a complete service book with oil change every year etc. Anyway, I will change the spark plugs asap then! |

I would suggest that before you spend any money, pull the codes with the Procede software and find out what the code definition is. If you post here, then people can narrow it down for you.
How many miles or km's are on the car and how many were driven with the tune? Sorry just saw your post about. |

There is a Procede user's manual, as a "Sticky", above your thread in the forum.
Here is a quote from it, on pulling and clearing codes(connect to the Procede with your laptop first): Quote:
