Bulb types for e90

Hi, I'm ready to order some light bulbs for better night appearance of my 08 e90 335i. I have done quite a bit reading here and learned how to replace those bulbs.

Just try to confirm the bulb types before I make the order. Is the fog H11? Is the DRL H8? Can someone please confirm these two bulb types for e90? What is the best place to order these bulbs?

Thanks.

I thought to change the lights for an e90 it wasn't juss an easy step to replace the bulbs with different one like the e92.. I think you would have to buy a whole kit and the process is not as simple

i think you can change the bulbs like the E92 335i. H7 (DRL), D1S (Beams), and H7 for the Fogs. If you go to www.sylvania.com should tell you what bulbs you need. If i am wrong please let me know. I have a E90 335i and plan to order some GP Thunder H7 8500k (DRL), GP Thunder H11 8500K (FOG), and D1S (Beams).

Ok, let me make it clear here. I have HID for my headlight. So I need:

DRL: H7 55w
Fog: H11 55w

I do not plan to replace the bulb for Xenon (low&high) beams. I will get Lux4.0 for angel eyes though.

i think you can use the H7 for the Angel Eyes? i have been trying to get clarification for this but havent heard anything. I know a bunch of E92 owners have been using H8's for the Angel Eyes. If we can do that it would be cheapier than Lux if the pockets are then. Some help please.

NO, you can not use H7 or H8 for the Angel Eyes on the E90. Only LED bulbs like PIAA, LUX, Umnitza Predator ICE will fit e90.

Fogs are H8 35w.

If you go with H11 55w, then you'll get an error.

i bought GP Thunder H8 for the Fogs for the E90 and they dont fit. Took them to BMW installer and said they dont work the prongs are too big. Sylvania.com says H11's.

OP is taking about bulb for the e90, not e92.

Fog bulb for standard e90 front is H11.

You guys really got me scared for a while since I have already ordered H11 for my fogs. Please read clearly, I was talking about e90 not e92.

May be we should have two different sections of cosmetic modifications for both e90 and e92 since they are pretty much totally different except the engine

please read the thread title before confusing others.. e90 not e92. regardless of the errors, the prongs on an H8 are most likely different then an H11 bulb so it wouldn't fit period. i made the mistake of finding this out with fogs for the e90 mtech bumper when purchasing bulbs (H11 vs 9006/HB4, different prongs).

would also add, i run the xenisis H7/9006 bulbs and wouldn't really reccomend. there still quite yella especially the H7 DRLs. still looking for a non hid drl/fog match for my lux4's..

Be drl, do you mean that the inner light in the headlights are on, if so no, dont have the function here.

We do have to have the lights on 24 7, but thats mean the lowbeam, or the parklight (i.e. angel eyes) + fogs.

I have these fog bulbs http://www.automotivelightingusa.com...roducts_id=909

Actually, wouldn't these gold fog lights look good: "MTEC 2X Golden Style H11"?

Cool... I haven't yet seen gold fog lights on a 3 series. Seen them on some other cars that look really good though. Can't wait to see those pictures... get at least one during the day light or dusk and one at night. Sorry if I'm being picky, but it will help me decide and be helpful to others too, I'm sure.
Thanks.

I'll try. With the weather here in Boston, I'm not too optimistic about that. In fact, I had my car washed today and by the time I get home, the whole front end got sprayed with shit again......
