Godspeed front mount

My friend just purchased one for his 335i, trying to see what people think of this front mount. I have tried to research on it, all the posts are half and half on the product. Mostly everyone gets on it because its a cheap product, but then theres posts from members saying the quality is great and that they have had the front mount on for awhile with zero problems. I only care to figure because I got the VRSF 7inch so I'm wondering how this will compare on a dyno. My sponsor shop told my friend that he should see zero problems with it and thats not for them to make a sale. Since they are vendors for vrsf, AA and more. Let me know what you guys think or have run into. Ill attach a picture of a log i found on the intercooler.

Don't buy one.

I have one.

IAT's get to 150 easy.

Thats log has meth.

In ambient temps around 85 my IAT sits min 100f cruising at 100km/hr, and during a single 3rd gear pull gets 120+ and through fourth gets to 150f

If your looking for cheap by vrsf.

i personally already have the vrsf, but my friend just got the godspeed front mount. See thats weird since another member on here had the godspeed and loved it, he even got the ets one later one to test the difference between the two. His charts showed that both were almost the same.

I mean my friends car is FBO with stock slugs also and he usually just runs map 5. I don't see anything wrong with the logs

That's really not out of line with other 5" intercoolers. At those temps on a typical stage 1 tune stock intercooler is going to be 140+ at the top of 3rd (done countless stock intercooler logs). There are variables like how aggressive the tune is and how high the engine was spun but anyway you cut it those numbers you posted are a signficant improvement over stock. I don't endorse Chinese copies in general but those numbers don't really make a case not too (the price is more of a detractor. few bills more will get you a name brand product with support).

Here's a log from what's considered one of the best 5" available.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277336

and here's my 5" which probably looks hot to you
http://datazap.me/u/stanlalee/august...g=0&data=2-5-6

until you look at the stock intercooler at the exact same temp (with less aggressive tune I might add). A 30 deg F improvement at 6800rpm (where the stock intercooler log ends. The 5" log was spun to 7000rpm)

I think the Godspeed is supposed to be 6inches but I can't really say it is. My boy has the order info on the front mount . But anyway, like you said the so called cheap knockoff seems to be holding up just fine on logs . And like I said one member on here had the Godspeed and "upgraded" to the ets front mount but when he loged it, the logs were almost exactly the same between the two. I'm not gonna say the Godspeed is anywhere near ets in quality but on paper it looks to be doing it's job. I mean I got the vrsf 7 inch and the Godspeed logs surprise me. Not because it's cheap. Just because it's dojng what it's supposed to .

I ran one similar but in a 4" core on my single. I actually did A LOT of testing with it with some cool equipment. I need to rip the HD out of my old computer, there's a lot of info on there. The biggest down fall was turbo lag. I swapped it out for a vrsf 7" and immediately noticed reduced turbo lag and better throttle response. There wasn't a big difference in volume so wasn't expecting the results I received. For the money I would just go straight for the vrsf over the godspeed/cx racing. I bet the lag difference is felt even more with the stockers than my big single.

I don't think he meant comparatively but IATs won't start at 94 degrees at the beginning of the run and go down to say 91 degrees by 5000rpm at speed on a tuned N54 with no meth like the log suggest.

This does happen on applications with more intercooler and less engine (My last GTI with upgraded intercooler for example)

Also 3000GT MR is talking about the "Big Tom" Godspeed/CX racing which is totally different and much bigger than the direct replacement Godspeed. There is really no debating the Big Toms cools the air (been proven repeatedly) just been questioned for the reasons 3000GT MR mentioned.

It should also be noted that the ETS intercooler graph is outdated. That testing was done on their 8 row intercooler. They've been selling a more efficient 10 row for a few years now.

Interesting (and cool to know), one of the selling points of the godspeed core design was the thinner core relative to a 7", and as a result better transient lag response. I'd love to see that data if you have it on hand. For science of course

VRSF 5" Stepped has yet to tip over 120* for me after hard pulls and city driving / traffic in 95*+ and 90%+ humidity down here in south Florida without meth. Great product that efficiently cools and recovers from heat soak very well.
