What is that sensor by the ECU

Page 4, took my car to a shop to get it fixed, the locking mechanism is broken now. Trying to figure out what it is so I can order an other. |

If you are referring to the sensor on the passenger side of the cowl, it is the sensor that detects odors for the auto re-circulate function of the A/C system.
The ambient temperature sensor is located in the front bumper.

Word. It's an "air quality" (AUC) sensor.
Different car, same concept: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...the-uac-sensor The temp sensor is in the front bumper. |

The sensor on the driver's side is for the hood switch for the BMW factory alarm. If you don't have an alarm installed on your car, it is just pre-wired for it and the hood switch itself is not there.
