xd400/4.. cdt 4" and logic 7
so i have an e92 w/logic 7 and i have the technic harness for about 4 months with addition to my 12"idmax and pdx4 its great and all but im ready for some components.
Left over from my e46 i have a xd400/4 that i would like to incorperate and im ready to pull the trigger on the cdt cl42sl 4". So basicially what im asking is if this will all work? 400/4 > 4" doors and underseats oem amp > rears pdx 4 > 12 id max sub now ive always done my own installs without problems, but im not to familiar with processors, (im old school) but i will add it afterwards if i feel i need it. .. thx fam!! Sounds good to me. Until I got my 6" pods installed, I was running my HD-4s along with the OEM floor woofers in a similar setup. With my 6" pods, I just removed the floor woofers from the equation. See my sig below for my setup. Note I had to top-mount my HD-4 4" drivers while you have the slim ones so a normal internal mount should be fine for you.
Note: I do not have logic 7, I just have the professional base North America stereo. But that would only make a difference on the input side, so I cant answer any questions about how to take your Head Unit preamp signal into your external amps.

That being said, I am sure there are lots of nifty things you can do with the digitized signal before it is reconverted to analog. Now maybe the wave (no pun intended) of the future would be to build in the digital tricks (which a digital processor does to the audio) in to the actual digital file. So that the wav file on my usb stick is already filtered so that it comes out of my speakers with all the effects (such as sounding to the driver's ears like the speakers are equidistant from his head) built in. So I would add the processing/filter into my wav files before I load them onto my USB stick. That would take care of my complaint about unnecessary re-digitizing.

You may want to read the upgrade sticky to familiarize yourself with the system you have and how to go about adding equipment. Hint, it is not as easy as it was connecting the sub!

I would guess the HD-4s will not fit the coupe, even top mounted, but I could be wrong. You might be able to add a spacer between the door panel and the driver to "lift" it out for magnet clearance in the back, but then you would be getting pretty close to the dashboard corner when the door closes. But with the slim CLs you have, you shouldnt have a problem.
