Nokia N95 8GB compatible with the 6FL USB device?
Hello,
My new 3-series is coming, and I've ordered the 6FL USB option. I'm now shopping for a mp3 player and my first choice was the apple iPod classic 80GB. But I also need an new phone and the Nokia N95 has 8GB, so I can use that also as a mp3 player. My question is if it is compatible with the 6FL USB.. Thanks in advance, Thomas |

I tried connecting my Sony Ericsson 810i (w/2GB DuoII) for MP3 play but it wasnt recognized by the USB interface/car system (2008 335CXI). I tried leaving it in for a few minutes as well without luck.
I'm curious if it is just flash drives, hard drives and iPODs that work ... ![]()

My son has got a Sony Ericsson W800i and he says that the reason why the Sony probably won't connect is that it requires software to be recognized on a computer. When he puts the usb-cable of his phone in my PC, it doesn't connect.. First you have to install the Sony Ericsson software. So that should probably the reason why the BMW usb interface doesn't recognize your phone.

You have two options. You can use the 3.5mm aux audio input and navigate audio from the phone, which most people consider less than optimal.
If your music is a format the car supports (mp3, plus I think aac and wma) you can connect to the USB port as a USB mass storage device and treat the music on your phone the same as music on a flash drive. BMW does not (yet) have A2DP (Bluetooth Stereo). |

I do the same with my Sony Ericsson K850i and it works great except that it cannot be controlled via the iDrive. AFAIK, the 6FL works only with iPods. I think it will work with the iPhones too. |
