:: ECS Tuning :: Introducing The ECS E9X Rear Trailing Arm|Stronger Lighter

While the BMW E9X is capable of sustained, high-performance driving, its suspension system is not without flaws. Specifically, the rear trailing arm fitted to these models has a tendency to fail without symptoms, potentially leaving you stranded without a critical suspension component.

ECS has solved this issue with a meticulously engineered Performance Rear Trailing Arm, made from aluminum & better designed to withstand the demands placed on it.

Not only is the unit more robust & dependable than the factory unit, it's also lighter, reducing weight.

•Constructed from solid 6061-T6 aluminum•
•Anodized for corrosion resistance•
•Increased strength versus the factory steel arm - this arm fears no pot holes•
•25% lighter (384 grams versus 517 grams each)•

Nice looking parts!

Finally something specific to iX cars - looks like EZ install & I assume no need to get car aligned after install?

Not specific to ix cars. e9x meaning plug in 0, 1, 2, or 3 where the x is.

If your factory part is undamaged or bushings are not being replaced an alignment is not required.

What is the practical need for these other than damaged or bent factory arms? Is there real-world concern about the stock parts flexing?

For the record, I have all M3 or Megan Racing/Hardrace arms in the rear. Only the trailing arm is stock.
