Police Officer Said:YOU WERE DRIVING LIKE A TWAT
Sadly my dash-cam wasn't on when I got pull over
I was leaving a roundabout from stationary, I drove off then switch to 2nd gear at 4k rpm with a little tyre squeak noise(ran for half an hour in the gym can't handle the clutch so well) then I saw blue lights flashing behind me then I realized, yeah, it's for me as I didn't hear any siren before my shifting mistake and my car runs no cat(luckily they didn't noticed that), so I got pull over and I have been told I am a twat and say some BS like you are driving like a BMW sports car doesn't mean you can exceed the speed limit in this country(which is also not true) the road has 40MPH speed limit there is no way that I exceeded the speed limit at that engine speed just after 1st gear. ended up with a warning tho as I was being very nicely because I don't want any trouble unless he gives me points. So If I recorded all this with my dash cam can I sue him for abusive word, lying and wasting my time or if I do get a ticket for dangerous driving, can I use my dash cam to speak for my self as the dash cam has the vehicle speed on it. Cheers |

I don't know about in the UK, but here in America, the police can basically tell us whatever they want. I was once outside my apartment in New York City, and witnessed a police officer telling an individual that "I'ma shoot ya ass!"

Haha, just think yourself lucky that you live in the UK. Quick story.
My mates and I were in the US (New Hampshire) been for a few drinks at a bikers bar (lol) and when we returned to our apartments down the road, we stupidily decided to do what we do in the UK, that is to pick up some construction cones and flags from the roadside. One of us had a cone on the head when a trooper went past, turned around and just stopped by us with his spot lamp on us. He asked what we were doing and we said 'just having a laugh'. He paused, and then said 'you boys better get back to your apartment before I call the van'. We found out the following morning just what 'the van' was. There was a trooper at the roadside arresting someone in cuffs pressed up against a VAN! Haha Apparently, the van carts you off and ruins your drunken holiday there. Don't do it. If you ever think you're hard done by by our police, just go to the US (or most other countries) and do a wheelspin. Mistake |

Does "twat" have the same meaning in the UK as it does in the US?
See: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/twat

No transparency and very aggressive policing. Police in those countries like to do what they like to do. Funny, that I was on South bound M25 going anti-clock wise last night and two police cars were slowing the traffic. We all left the fast lane empty as nobody wanted to go into that lane.... We were wondering what was going on and then all of sudden white skoda went pass us on fast lane doing 90-100MPH followed by 4 further police cars. One of them was unmarked X5. As soon as it passed us, all of the police car stated chasing white skoda. And traffic started flowing normally as all of them were doing high speed pursuit. I was just keen to see what happens next and tried to follow them .... But lost them as they were driving fast and I did not want to do illegal speed. After two miles, I saw all of them joining the motorway from hard shoulder. X5 was in front of Skoda and other police car was behind it. When I overtook them, I saw that there was a copper in White skoda. I cannot imagine for a second that it was a police drill. Perhaps they had arrested the chap and copper was driving white skoda to nearest station. why I am mentioning it on your thread..... As if it was a different country, results would be much more different. You would have seen police car bumping in to white skoda, firing at the alleged criminal and perhaps paramedics on the scene. Motoway would have been shut for good few hours. I was seriously impressed how well the planned the pursuit and they got the person who they were after! Now coming back to your story...stop going to the gym if it interferes with the cluth or buy automatic as suggested above.
