07 E90 Sedan sound driving me crazy
Ok, so lately I feel like while listening to the radio the front drive side corner of sound will just disappear. Almost like the rest of the car is playing while my driver side front corner is not, or its almost like my ears are stopped up on the left side of my head. Next min it will sound good again.
I can also use my fader and adjust all to the left and it sounds like I am getting sound from my driver side, but it just doesnt have the "full" sound. Almost like my side is cutting in and out sometimes. Is this a known issue??? I have the I-drive / Logic 7 stuff as far as I know. |

I had the same sort of problem a while back.
It would only happen when I was playing songs through my iPod (hardwired cable through back). Unplugged iPod cable and plugged it back in, never happened again. Except in my case, you say you aren't getting the full sound, I wasn't getting ANY sound.

I've been noticing a similar problem in my '08 E90, Logic 7.
To me it seems like I lose a 'fullness', for lack of a better word. All of a sudden the audio will seem to have more depth and layers to it. I notice it more when it gets better, because all of a sudden I'll think, "oh, there's the good audio!" I can only recall noticing it when I'm listening to stuff from my iPod/iPhone through the usb+aux connection in the console. And I've done the same thing as you, try the left-right and fader, and everything seems okay. Does that sound like what you're getting? I've wondered if it's the car or the source. Brad 2008 335i |

Mine did this for a while. Left side was intermittently out and if I turned volume down, then up, everything would come back on. Thought it was the amp going bad but after a battery change it didn't happen anymore.

I wish I had a solution, but I don't. I've been trying to see if there's any pattern to this, like certain parts of songs, car been running for 'x' amount of time, etc, but I haven't identified anything.
Have you ever had the issue of your audio not working at all after starting the car? Every once in awhile the audio won't work at all, I can't change sources, volume does nothing. I'll have to shut the car off and restart it a couple times, then it will work. I wonder if these two things are related? |

exactly!
That's exactly what I'm going through -- sounds just seems odd, like it's not as full, missing a certain range, or a particular range is very faded in comparison to other ranges -- just seems 'odd' and then fixes itself for a while, etc.
For the folks in this thread that had that same description -- what was your solution? Did you fix yourself, or via an external service, or via the dealership? |
