Experience with Toyo Proxe T1-R's?
I'm getting new wheels next week and I'm looking at what tyres to get. I have been offered a set of Toyo T1-Rs (225 35 19 / 255 30 19) for £690 which ain't bad considering Tyre Leader wants £310 per front.
Question is, are they any good? I don't track the car or drive excessively fast but I do like a spirited drive when I'm on my own. Thoughts and experiences please. |

i ran them on a 450 bhp R33 GTST skyline (these dont have traction control or any other nanny state aids),great tyre in all conditions on the road, went a bit soft after a few hard laps on tight tracks though,as said, not great for wear

Thanks for the feedback. I do a lot of miles so ideally I need something that will last reasonably well. Any suggestions on a good all round tyre?

I am running Conti 5ps on my 313s and will be switching them for Assy 2s when the time comes. They grip well (no better than Assy 2s) but wear much faster. I also managed to damage a sidewall on one of the rears on a pothole which I have not done in over 75k on Goodyears (albeit on 17s and 18s). |

Used to have the Toyos on t'missus' Cooper S and they were fantastic, as already mentioned though, they reaaaaally don't last long.
Running the Eagle F1s on my E93 now and they're fantastic. Event Tyres are pretty good on price with mobile fitting too. I'd strongly recommends getting a 4 wheel alignment though if you haven't in a while. |

When I worked for TVR back in 2002/03 these were the tyre of choice, why? they offered good grip and actually helped so I was told compensate for some chassis defecates that were difficult to deal with... still handled like shit but they were overall considered the best option, though as stated they do wear rather alarmingly
